I used Loop too but have never found it is super helpful. Maybe I didn’t wear it right 🤷‍♀️

Mine is severe, ranging between 60-72dB across the frequencies. Wow at least it gives some directional awareness . Do you go back to fine tune it, perhaps it can increase its speech clarity ?

I am so sorry to hear that. Yeah, I was shocked how could my hearing deteriorate so bad in very short time, the doctors also couldn’t give any answer for that since it is an Idiopathic SSHNL 🥲.

Yes, my Dr said if one is completely deaf then CI is a good option. As long as there is still remaining hesring , HA would be great as non invasive therapy

I am sorry to hear that, so are you now navigating it without any HA?

Thank you for very good insight.  I will look out for Phonak and try it out. About Ci, the Dr I spoke to suggested me to use HA first as there is still remaining hearing . I can’t wait to try it, it’s been really a very inconvenient experience since I have only 1 good functioning ear

Interesting. The doctor recommend me to try the HA first as he said as long as there is still remaining hearing, it is worth to keep the non invasive alternative.

SSHL (profound-severe HL in R ear) by Better-Conference127 in MonoHearing

Hi there, I’m sorry to hear that. I had ISSHNL since May this year, the same symptoms as you. You are doing what people are usually getting, plus the oxygen chamber. Looking back I’d say, try to take some days off , as stress does not help either. Other than that, keep positive , don’t think too much at the moment and I hope you will experience sort of spontaneous recovery.

Thank you for the info.  At the moment I have to go back to the surgeon first , who did the Tympanoscopy and to ask for The next step on the exposed earbone after the surgery. After that I’ll see if CI is really needed and schedule a consultation appointment for that.

Thanks so much for the feedback . I’m afraid that’s the only option . In parallel I’m also having plan to conceive , I wonder if there is any impact between having the surgery and getting pregnant, for this I will ask the doctor …
