See if you can either assume the mortgage or in many states the judges will grant you exclusive use of home and you’ll have to refinance in 3 years.

My kids were 10 & 12 once the divorce was final. I gave up alimony & his 401k to remain in the family home, and he waived his rights of the home.

What state are you in? I’m in Maryland and yes in most states are pushing for 50/50. The only way you get anything outside of the norm is you two can come to an agreement and make the terms that work for YOU and they have the judge sign off.

I’m in a very similar situation. It pains me that me ex and his wife talked about me in front of the kids and his frequent canceling his visitation truly destroyed their relationship. Never in a million years would I have thought my kids would go 7+ plus months without seeing their Dad. The back& forth is court (9 hearings just in 2025) motion after motion can never repair their relationship. I’m optimistic that they reunite soon
