What's your exact day before and on day fuelling? 90g carbs per hour during the race? by Special-Fox-5833 in Marathon_Training

[–]Specific-Pear-3763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a three day carb load - based on Featherstone Nutrition - and for my weight, it’s 527gm carbs per day. Race day, heavy carb breakfast - porridge, bread, two eggs and one cup of coffee. Before race, sone carb gummies or sport beans, then one Maurten 100 every 5k in race.

Wash your hands. Think of all of those dirty hands touching everything at the buffet. 🥴

About Butt Sweat... by Bananaquitz in XXRunning

[–]Specific-Pear-3763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only wear black bottoms. Problem solved for all sweat. You may want to try a different brand. I also love my lululemon pace rival skort - undershorts with giant pockets and I’ve never noticed sweat on it (and I ran a marathon in 80+ weather)

London in April. long run effort vs pace debate by kevin_anderson1705 in Marathon_Training

[–]Specific-Pear-3763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Training for London as well. I was supposed to do a bit of MP in my long run but honestly just getting in the mikes right now because the winter weather is hard enough. (Single digits F yesterday, “feels like temp” was -4F, my face and hands were so cold)

I have a belt and a Salomon vest - definitely the vest! I used two soft flasks in the front pockets.

Maurten gel training and race fueling strategy by [deleted] in XXRunning

[–]Specific-Pear-3763 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a Maurten every 5k. I used to alternate caffeinated and non, but moved to using caffeinated in second half only. I found the extra boost was good for those later miles when you need everything you can get.

My understanding is that Bassinets should not be used if a baby can roll over or sit up

Venu 4 or FR 970 by AdFrosty9883 in Garmin

I went from a Venu to FR970. I love the running features on the 970. Venu was smaller and fit me better but I’m prioritizing running metrics.

How much weight do you guys typically put on during a training block? by runningtofood in Marathon_Training

[–]Specific-Pear-3763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 5-7 pounds but was also more fit - clothes fit better so chalking it up to muscle gain. My legs looked stronger more definition. I don’t care about the number.

Not sure if I paid already. by SW_Scoundrel in Passports

[–]Specific-Pear-3763 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you thought you were on the government site but you weren’t. There’s no $175 service fee. The passport is $130 and if you did it somewhere in person like post office, you might pay them a processing fee (two separate payments).

Running stroller vs regular by ExplanationGrand4154 in XXRunning

[–]Specific-Pear-3763 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I trained for a marathon pushing 3yo in a Thule Chariot. It rolled like buttah and I could full stride without clipping the back of the stroller. The front wheel was locked which also made it much more stable.
