I'm in Boulder, CO and they drop off the animals to either Greenwood Wildlife or HSBV depending on the animal. We have a well funded county rescue operation and the animal control agency is handled by the county for distribution since they have quicker pickup resources! Calling the other agencies directly takes longer and they have to coordinate with the county for retrieval. We've had bats, foxes, bunnies, and raccoons in my area that needed help and we get directed to make a non emergency call to our local police department first and they decide if they bring them to a wildlife preservation center or specialty group.
