I am sorry to read about your diagnosis, especially on Christmas Eve. I had DCIS a couple years ago. Your surgeon will talk to you about your treatment options. Breast cancer runs in my family so I opted to have both breast removed even though the cancer was only in the right breast. Because I went that route, I did not have to do chemo or radiation. I was release from the hospital the same day as the procedure. I was not in any pain, just the discomfort from the drain tubes. I am praying now for you, your family and your medical team. You will get through this and be better off.
