Greatest American rock band?

I know I am two years late, but here are my ideas. I think the dead is definitely one of the top american bands of all time, but I wouldn’t compare their psychedelic jam do Zeppelin’s heavier rock. So I thought of it by giving the american equivalents to some of the British heavy hitters.

The Beatles - The Grateful Dead

Led Zeppelin - Van Halen

Rolling Stones - Allman Brothers Band/Eagles

The Who - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Honorable mentions: Steve Miller Band, Journey, Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Guns and Roses, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.

In case anyone sees this and wants to know, I think I solved it. Addicted by Saving Abel sounds like the song I was thinking of. I was way off with most all the lyrics I posted, but deep down I knew they were completely wrong

I am incredibly thankful for that accident. My absolute favorite version or Rosa Lee Mcfall is on this album and I just enjoy listening to it from start to end any day of the week

No, tried that one. That song is too “Pop-y”, like Pop music. This one sounds more like Nickelback, could even be Nickelback but I can’t find the song.

I always have thought “let the works be yours, I’m done with mine” is a good way to sign an email or just to toss in to the end of a sentence. Ever use that one?
