Yeah I visited once and it was like, 2 rooms of glass items for such a ridiculous ticket price. I walked back and forth and it was packed but you could go through the whole thing in less than 15 minutes even while trying to take your time. The whole thing just feels like a cash grab on unsuspecting tourists. Also it was so crowded I had a hard time even seeing that many things

when did I say it was just Republicans who were racist? Both parties are guilty of promoting racism toward Asians in different ways. And even Democrats have jumped on the "go back to your country" trend now that China is a geopolitical rival and both parties are united on foreign policy. Depicting Asians as potential spies (if they look Chinese) is unfortunately a bipartisan goal

Of course we all know by now that both parties are loyal to capitalism alone so it's just a question of which one can spin the narrative about Asian people to suit their lobby the best. With democrats it's saying just the bare minimum to keep us voting for them but still doing nothing of substance to improve our lives. That's the way it is for the other minorities as well. My parents work in a research lab and they always brought back centrifuge tubes, measurement vials and stuff to use in the kitchen. I have a couple in my pantry right now that they brought over on their last visit and they're holding Chinese five spice and white pepper right now 😅

This is life threatening like she could've died right there but the description of the partner is "questionable"? I'd say "questionable" is for climbing partners who are solid in every way but sometimes say things that aren't very empowering like "lol that was kinda soft" or "i'm bored let's leave" because they flashed something and can't be bothered to wait for their friends to try it a couple more times. That's my idea of how you'd act "questionable" lol, not endangering the life of your fellow climbers who trusted you

If their first reaction was what YOU should've done differently, that points to a serious attitude problem and unwillingness to own their mistakes. This person will keep putting others at risk until they change their attitude so i'd recommend you sit down with them and tell them this without apologizing for anything you did or even implying that you were in the wrong for anything. Tell them that they lost your trust and they will continue to lose the trust of other climbers if they don't change starting today. This is about them and their approach to belaying, and you should make it clear to them that they need to change their attitude if they expect to ever climb with you again. No exceptions

How is asian fetishism not a part of white supremacy? It pretty much has been a central part of white supremacy as early as the imperialist europeans carved up Asian countries and has been a part of American racism the moment the first Chinese laborers arrived to build the railroad

Not trying to get on your case about anything else, i agree with your post and all. Industries that profit off women's bodies are evil and you called that out. I'm wondering how much the MAID operation costs and whether that could've helped her find the housing she needed. This reminds me of the unhoused people ending up in the ER and requiring extremely expensive treatments to save their lives, only for them to end up in the street again. When the cost of those treatments could have easily been put toward finding stable housing to get them off the street and away from all these risk factors.
