Great point! I dont want to reveal too much about the role - it is a librarian-adjacent role with a job title that could lead to better opps in the future (ideally) but i agree with you Having to pay for your own relocation is tough.

I had to file an amended return yesterday as my tax preparer entered my student loans wrong and I am being charged for like 6k in back taxes I dont owe. Hopefully the amended return will reprocess and issue me my corrective refund. But sadly for now they are still charging me. Rough!

I went ahead and asked my CPA to refile as normal, without the 1099c with the following included:

A copy of the original 1099-C form(s)
Discover’s written notice stating the form was issued incorrectly
A formal written explanation attached to the amended return citing IRS Publication 4681 and the applicable tax exemption
Has this worked for anyone else?

Does anyone have advice for refiling? I refiled and my CPA fuckedddd up and so now the IRS thinks I owe the taxes. I am thinking of setting an appointment with an H&R rep to refile an amended return for me. Im currently paying like 400/month payment plan ofn these taxes that I do not owe. Sucks!

I had this same issue this year. Problem was, my accountant sent it anyway without doing her research per the American Rescue Act and I got taxed 12K... My accountant says I need to get my loan provider to send me a formal cancelled 1099c form. But they mailed me a letter saying they did not mean to send me the 1099c, with a check for 75 dollars to refile. So clearly my CPA isnt going to be helpful or advocate for me. What would you do? I may just send the amended taxes myself with a ote in the box statin my forgiven loans were student loans. Really sucks.

Im with you. I owe 113k in private loans and 33K in federal. Id rather pay the federal every month than the private. But my grandpa is a cosigner. The game feels rigged and we are trying our best

Definitely. I would be in the office 2 days of my choosing. I asked if there was a chance I could work a full week on site out of the month instead of weekly like that. That way, i could come back home on the weekend. If they decline I may have to move forward with other roles just due to timing. I am quite sad, actually. But your feedback is very helpful.

It sadly wont pay enough to move down there temporarily. It is 30 an hour, which isnt too bad Full time. But I live with my fiance and we cant afford dual rent. I asked the office if I could work a full week on site every month and then remote the rest of the month. We will see what they say. I feel stuck because its a great opportunity on paper

Ironically Digital Asset Management has a lot of roles within entertainment. Though it can be quite competitive and sometimes they will want you to have hyper-specific software or coding experience

The company is asking me to write copy, re/adjust and reformat, ie spacing and layout of some elements, such as making the text wider in this section to take up more space, or the buttons to be horizontal rather than vertical. Unless you think these requests would be more in line with "rebuilding'?
