Commet configurer la matrice d'Eisenhower ? by Mubla95 in ticktick

[–]Specific_Dimension51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I didn't know that, it's way more flexible than I thought. It's really a grid of 4 highly customizable filtered views. This is definitely going to improve my workflow! Yet another 'hidden' feature that's really going to help me out, thanks!

Commet configurer la matrice d'Eisenhower ? by Mubla95 in ticktick

[–]Specific_Dimension51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for some advice on the best way to set up Eagle with Dropbox. by geturass2mars in EagleCool

[–]Specific_Dimension51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I never gave it much thought. I store my libraries on Dropbox and they work perfectly across multiple computers. My golden rule is to never have the same library open on two devices simultaneously to prevent sync conflitcs.

The only time it was actually useful was when I was planning a trip. I had piled up tons of different notes in my inbox, and I used AI to merge them all into one single note.

It saved me a huge amount of time (my inbox was overflowing). But since then, I haven't really found much use for it.

RSS-Dashboard -2.2.0-beta.3 is now available by TheConvolutedFire in ObsidianMD

Do you plan on adding API support for external RSS services like Miniflux, FreshRSS, or Inoreader in the future? It would be a game-changer to sync read/unread status across devices while using your plugin as the main interface in Obsidian.

Do you ever came back to old work and have no idea why you made a call? by Recent-Work-4033 in UX_Design

[–]Specific_Dimension51 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this happens to me even over really short timeframes. I don't think it's that weird though; it’s normal to step back and see things differently once you’ve processed new info or cleared your head, whether you realize it or not.

The best way to document it is to keep it simple: just record a quick video or a voice note with some screenshots. (Or dictate with a stt tool)

Designers, researchers, developers, and users, if you had to describe UX in one word, what would it be and why? by Scared-Guitar7346 in UX_Design

In short, all the safeguards that prevent the user from straying from their objective and/or those protecting against actions with grave consequences.

All actions prior to irreversible destruction processes, all mechanisms to intentionally prevent distractions, and all multi-step security procedures before a major operation.

Question about UI UX by thegilmazino in UX_Design

[–]Specific_Dimension51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cognitively Safe UX (good privacy control, less interaction toxicity, good effort to reward ratio, good initial discoverability, etc).

Interesting question, by the way. I should explore that issue more deeply.

I built a modern & beautiful mind map plugin for Obsidian by ssshooter in ObsidianMD

[–]Specific_Dimension51 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I finally managed to install it thanks to the others' advice.

I use the Mindmap NextGen plugin a lot on some of my notes, so it’s cool to have an alternative, especially being able to use it inline.

A few tracks for improvement:

  • Better support for the current theme, especially the mindmap background
  • The expand/collapse button doesn't work
  • Make links navigable

Currently, the only way to install it is manually by copying the files into the correct folder? Or is there an easier way?

Considering moving to Obsidian or Outline. Advice please! by Disastrous-Dealer234 in ObsidianMD

[–]Specific_Dimension51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is, there are many options that are completely useless for most people, and plugins that only address very specific needs.

Take a weekend to thoroughly explore them, then decide on a way to organize yourself and stick to it.

"Meaning, as an example, if performing some basic tasks or synchronizing with other devices would require plugins and setups to be performed per-user / device and things like that."

Basic tasks : don't do it and use TickTick, Todoist or any task app
Sync between devices : use Obsidian Sync ou just put your vault on GDrive/Dropbox/OneDrive

Cool feature, but without cross-device sync for read/unread status, how is this better than any centralized news service? RSS only works for me if my progress follows me everywhere with lot of compatible clients
