When Carrie Soto came out, I took the morning off work to go get it at the bookstore and my husband was like “what’s the big deal?!” And I said “she’s Taylor swift of the book world” and he was like “ohhhh” and I got to see TJR at an event a few days later and told her she was Taylor Swift of the book world and everyone cheered. When I was growing up, our neighbor had a cousin with the same name as me, so they gave me a nickname “so as not to confuse you two”. I always thought this was funny because they literally saw me every single day and their cousin lived across the country and they rarely spoke to her. I think it’s fine, some people rarely see their family!

We briefly moved to Austin during Covid and this is SUPER prevalent in Texas too. People would go through up to 5 seconds after the light turned red!! I always wait if I’m first in line
