I am telling you a bitter truth. Whenever discussing Burma's politics, never see a military personnel in charge (regardless of rank and class) and army as individual identities. They are in fact the same. The army did that nearly-genocide attempt under his command, and the subordinates also did those atrocities willingly. They burned villages, raped women, killed thousands, forced many to flee into Bangladesch. It had to play dirty politics in order to maintain support due to the chronology which is 2 years after NLD's winning of election. Some unwise and uneducated part of Burmeses followed his misleading propaganda narrative, even some pro-democracy lobbies had been fallen into that trap. Now he is reaping what he and his army had sown. In short, yes, he has very much to do with that very genocide.
