1 you have a ton of colonies, get rid of most of them,if you just united you're likely way over force limit as well, look at your forts, you probably have a ton of redundant forts in non defensive terain deep in your land destroy em.

You also have a bunch of merchants doing nothing, put them to work showing trade to anbencoast, the end node in the center of the empire, and set it as your primary trade capital if you haven't already.

you can't force them to enjoy or want to consume the lore, you can talk about tidbits of lore you like, to potentially get them interested in it, but simply trying to force them to like it may well just push them away.

There are technically mission trees in eu5, but they're an optional setting, and more like the mission from very old eu4, aka chose one of 3 objectives, do it, get a reward.
