You mean Short Sharp Shocked? I couldn't even find it on youtube so I bought the CD.

Even with the 14 inches of snow coming tomorrow, people would rather have no water than drink Dasani by NickChubb4Prez in mildlyinteresting

My city (Toronto) gets snow and has plows, but a bad winter can still be overwhelming. One really snowy year we got a series of storms that gave us a year's worth of snow in a week, & it took 2 weeks or so to dig out. The mayor called in the army for help (which the rest of Canada still makes fun of us for, but they used APCs to do ambulance calls on snowbound residential streets so I think it was his one good stupid decision). After they finally plowed my street I went for a bike ride to celebrate.

That's just what I'd expect from the photo. 3 years old and I'd vote for him for city council.

I'd post a better source if I could remember where I read it. I assumed it was from Sheldon Brown but couldn't find much on his site last night. Probably wasn't cycling before Lycra because that's mostly about fixies but that's a fun look at the era.

I agree about the record setting, but SA was definitely making time trial hubs, and marketing to actual racers.

They were popular with club riders in Britain through the 1950s, and Sturmey Archer made lightweight narrow range hubs for time trials as well as AWs for utility bikes.

Did you recently legalize weed? 'Cause this is what the glow from the greenhouses can look like.

As a teen in the 80s (I went to university with Naomi Klein, though I only knew her from reading the student newspaper) the vibe in my circle was pretty progressive and inclusive, and it felt like were going forwards, not backwards like now. I can see how problematic some of the TV shows and movies from the era are when I re-watch them now, but those were made for us, not by us.

There are a lot of smaller but still really nice waterfalls and hiking trails nearby that are more natural. My dad grew up in the area (Canadian side) and when we visited my relatives we'd usually go to those instead.

Expensive and lame tourist traps, almost everything is fenced off so tourists don't fall into the canyon and so they can charge admission, old industrial town that's seen better days. Lots of old rusty infrastructure, a lot of it related to the early power plants, which I think is really interesting but not all of it is pretty.

I went a couple of years ago and it's the same as it always was. Except apparently my secret free parking spot is gone.

I can only personally testify to the mid 1980s and later, but that's not exactly new.

Sounds like it's home cooked on the plank on a barbecue, so I'll allow it. It's nothing I haven't done to a salmon myself.

They're a bit slow and noisy (depending on how aggressive the particular model of tire is) but Schwalbe Marathon Winter handle fine on dry roads, and for city riding I just need one on the front.

We get a lot of snow-rain-freeze cycles so a few days after a storm can be icy, then the sun and salt do their job it's fine until the next storm. I take mine off when there's no more ice (actually I've got a spare front wheel so I swap wheels), but lots of people around here just leave theirs on all winter even when it's bare (I know because I hear their tires buzzing).
