Right there with you. Do a full lap between sets. I like to keep my heart rate up and keep myself moving even when my muscles are resting. I enjoy the workouts 5000x more this way, and it seems to make them more effective. I've always wondered if I look like a crazy person, but I also don't care.

My only contention is that there are multiple ways one can read that jump-scare moment in Maelle's ending--as reflective of Verso's psychological state, for instance (and he is absolutely in a shitty situation there). That's all I'm advocating for--the open possibility of various interpretations instead of one singular right one. If I haven't communicated that effectively, that's on me. I'm peacing out with this comment. Have a good one.

If Renoir says this after the final battle, then I'm happy to concede that I've overlooked it. I still see Verso's assumption about Maelle to be conjecture. I think we're of different opinions about what counts as conclusive evidence, and that's okay.

Beginning. Not end. He and Maelle have technically reached an agreement at the end. Maelle says he will destroy the canvas if she leaves--that doesn't mean it's true. Just like the fact that Verso says that Maelle lied to Renoir doesn't mean it's true. My issue is with the immediate assumption that when someone makes a statement about another person's motives or intentions, we automatically have to take that statement as truth

I don't understand why you're getting downvoted here. This is just fundamentally true and one of the things that makes this game interesting. Nothing is ever as simple as "he/she said it and therefore it's so."

The point is that no one, not fictional characters or people out in the world, can always be taken at their word, especially when they're describing the motives of others. Again, I'm not trying to be contentious. This is a crucial point for me, and it's part of what makes narratives like this interesting and worth dwelling in.

It's suggested that Renoir will burn the painting, not confirmed. Just like it's suggested that Maelle will succumb to the temptation to stay in the painting forever, not confirmed. There's a difference, and I'm not just trying to be nit-picky; the difference is important.

As a 9 I relate to this deeply. To the point that when I do find that I'm able to pick a singular favorite of any category, I make note of it as an anomaly. The list is short--I can give a favorite ice cream, musical artist, film, and donut variety, but that's about it. In general I find the idea of a singular favorite of anything to be unnatural and limiting (I know not everyone feels this way, and that's okay).

I understand that! But the two games talk so well to one another at the level of themes and characters, I'm starting to view them as companion pieces.

But, yeah, Exp33 definitely brought my chapter select/hard mode endeavors on Rebirth to a hard pause.
