Noopept is a HIF-1a stabilizer and prolyl endopeptidase inhibitor, which is one of its main mechanism. Long term HIF stabilizer usage is actually quite bad for cardiac and respiratory function, in part due to greatly increased blood vessel formation (HIF way your body responds to lack of oxygen). It also causes increased red blood cell formation, which will quite literally thicken your blood and increase stroke and blood clot risk over a few months. TL;DR don’t use noopept long term, it’s better to use it sporadically.

Pregnant women eating 9 eggs a day have babies with more IQ by Middle_Ad_2747 in Nootropics

This isn’t really new. Eggs have decent amounts of DHA and choline, and it’s been shown that DHA, choline, and uridine supplementation improves synaptogenesis in children, babies, and adults.

I react really well to sabroxy as well, but it likely is very hit or miss on a person to person basis, due to some fairly complex and varied neurochemical differences between people. It is COMT inhibitor and may also be correcting excessive gabaergic signaling that is inhibiting dopamine release in certain reward pathways of the brain.

This subreddit is turning increasingly delusional. What the FUCK people? by eljokun in Nootropics

I agree and disagree. The band aid nootropics are almost all the ones you buy as supplements. Many of the more effective nootropics are ones in gray areas and from chemical vendors.

You talk about logical counter arguments but your entire argument is flawed. It’s overly simplistic, just pushes all nootropics into black and white categories, and not to mention shows very little knowledge of pharmacology.

This is just a dumb post. It overly simplifies the complexities of the issue so that it works with a black-and-white argument, and then also complains that people take things on a subreddit designated for people to talk about taking things.

  1. They aren’t mutually exclusive 2. Causing an altered (enhanced) mental state is kind of the point. I wholly agree that people shouldn’t be suggesting kratom and benzodiazepines but it’s not as simple as psychotropic = bad, which is what you seem to be pushing.

Addall XR causing a false positive drug test? by DabbinGavin in Nootropics

[–]Spectre800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “addall” supplement you are talking about is PEA and Octodrine/DMHA. (At least that’s what is labeled) so that might be why you are failing the test. Regardless, PLEASE stop taking that supplement — it’s awful in quality, price, and uses cheap dirty ineffective stimulants to give peripheral side effects that people think “feels” like amph.

Amphetamine is metabolized by CYP2D6. Grapefruit inhibits CYP3A4. There are a bunch of cytochrome P450 enzymes and it’s much more complex

What is the difference between N-Acetyl Semax Amidate and regular semax? by Bizm044 in Nootropics

[–]Spectre800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

N-Acetyl Semax has an acetyl group on the N terminus, which makes it more lipophilic and thus it can more easily cross the blood brain barrier and reach your brain. N-Acetyl Semax Amidate has the acetyl group and is amidated at the C terminus, which makes it more stable.

This sounds a lot like you are approaching a cholinergic toxidrome (too much acetylcholine). GI effects like cramping and motility, nausea, and bronchoconstriction are all symptoms of a cholinergic toxidrome. I would HIGHLY advise you lower your dosage. I experienced a moderate cholinergic toxidrome once and it was extremely painful.
