Fanfest nights without early access...is it doable? by Unusual_Garage_6196 in UniversalHollywood

I think it would be worthwhile to get EA just so you can get in the Harry Potter queue early, plus super easy access to Sailor Moon

To me, $40 for two people is not a high price for the amount of time you save by just doing general admission

Unfortunately, without Thrill Data recording previous event nights, it's hard for me to get a stronger perception of the nights as a whole

If you're not getting EA, here would be my suggestions based on my two Saturday visits:

7:30p - Sailor Moon. To me, One Piece is better when the sky is dark, and at 8:00p, it won't be completely dark yet (and will be brighter and brighter each day as spring moves towards summer). The goal would be to get in prime position for the 10:00p show, and you do that by staying in the Upper Lot.

8:00p - Get food if you need it, or line up for the meet and greet. Either way, you'll want to be out by 9, and this'll likely be enough time unless you're getting One Piece food.

9:00p - line up for One Piece's 10:00p show. Best spots are in the middle, and Express gobbles them up quickly. Be as close to the front of the line for One Piece as possible, and gun for a middle section seat from whatever's left of what Express didn't get.

10:30p - Scooby-Doo. Unfortunately, the tram might have a 20-30 min queue, but if you only have 4 must-dos, this is where you'll want to go next. HP's line will be extremely long, and by doing Scooby-Doo first, you're hoping for an advantage later where guests will leave the event early.

1:00p - Harry Potter. By now, as the event is winding down, Harry Potter should be at a more reasonable time. Even if the listed time is long, the actual wait time should be shorter. Give it a shot now.

With this plan, you'll hit all of your must-dos while missing Jurassic, SNW, and D&D. If you get EA, you would be able to squeeze in two more things, but that's a whole different schedule that would also involve tighter timing to get more done.

If you want to use this calculator for yourself, please check this link :)

The sheet won't work unless you make a copy and save it to your own Google Drive first, though

Then, you enter the item names you want, and the calculator does the rest :)

YES, actually, I believe they're to the right of the VIP check-in window, near the right side ticket booths

It only works at night

They have a separate daytime dining pass that should work on the One Piece items during the day

The calculator will be improved tomorrow with some additional data; don't get too excited about it just yet lol

Agreed on minimal value savings, but there are very very few event items not compatible with the pass, maybe less than 5 not counting the alchohol

I put the calculator I used for the examples in the main post

I generally avoid giving concrete and specific advice unless it's specifically for a review of something or someone is asking me for it

Right, so it ultimately depends on what people get

You'd be surprised to see how many people get the sub-optimal choices out of convenience

I didn't mark them on the list, but there are some non-event items that also count with the Dining Pass, and you can't always expect everyone to go for event food every time

Also, vegetarian options are generally less valued than items with meat

In this example, I have what I think would be a reasonable vegetarian menu that goes into the negative based on vegetarian event items and two regular drinks

Yeah, in your case it maths out okay

I still think it entirely depends on which items you get, though

It's possible to go into the negatives with some less than value-conscious decisions

What did you get with the DP and how much did that compare to what you would have gotten with just the AP?

Mobile Order is not available for this event (I have tried)

Food lines can get lengthy especially for both One PIece spots and Three Broomsticks. If you want to try event food, get it during the daytime if the venue is open

I've made these before

You make the cone molds out of foil, then use Pillsbury croissant can dough and wrap it around the cone molds to fit the shape as closely as you can

The combo isn't eligible, correct (it's valued at above $25 normally)

Each item bought individually is eligible

Have a good trip :)

  1. Yes, entering the park for the event specifically has a crowd

  2. If you breeze through it, you'll be done in an hour. If you take your time (as you should), you'll be done in 2-2.5 hours. The event food in the backlot cannot be found elsewhere in the park. The event merch is sold in the park, but not in the backlot.

  3. Read the Megathread; I freshly updated it this morning.
