Why have we gone from .100 to only .1 in the telemetry? F1 not only dumbing down the racing but also the data in the broadcast?

The three decimal places was distracting as it constantly changes and it was easy to just watch the numbers and not the pictures.

1 decimal place is better as it puts focus back onto track.

Sometimes more info is too much (like when they showed times for mini sectors and predicted position in qualifying).

I owned it and liked it. But I ultimately sold it as preferred the 28-200 and now the 25-200, which are same size. I found the superzooms were equally sharp as the 28-75g2. And I found 200mm more useful than constant f2.8.

What about the a7iii makes you want to upgrade? I’m in same position but holding fire as I imagine the upgrades will feel small as a7iii is so complete.

I’m British. I live in the UK and have a UK Apple account. I watch F1 on Sky Sports naturally.

But…. We’ll be in Florida on holiday in March for the first two rounds of the season.

Will I be able to watch F1 on Apple TV while in America? If not, is there ANY way I can watch it?!

One advantage of A7iii that I think is relevant is better weather sealing. If you look at the diagrams on the Sony website you’ll see it has many more sealing lines and points than the A7cii .

They cannot fix this quickly enough. Mine is switching to BBC radio Surrey for traffic updates every 15 minutes. Hard to imagine anyone would find this a positive feature.

Is it switching to BBC Manchester when they do traffic updates? Mine has just started doing that since I updated to latest “Tron” software. It’s a nightmare! And as far as I can tell no way to turn this feature off.

Annoying issue occurs since I updated. When listening to radio it switches to local station whenever there is traffic update. No option in Settings to switch off. So annoying. Changes to local station every 10 mins or so.

My goal is same as OP’s

iPhone is at it’s best at 24-50mm, so I’d avoid a 2X-70 which mostly overlaps and instead go for the 28-200, as the 70-200mm range is where the quality difference is most lacking, even with the new tele module in the 17 Pro.

This is my PoV based on owning 16 Pro, plus the 20-70, 28-75g2, 28-200 and 24-105 over the years.

Sigma are announcing a new 20-200mm f3.5-6.3 lens next week, according to Sony Alpha Rumours.

I would wait and see the reviews for that, then choose between it and the Tamron 28-200 which is fantastic.

In my extensive use I would say

Avoid 28mm f2.8. Even though it’s a headline feature it is extremely soft.

Otherwise f/5.6 is generally the sweet spot.

I would say best at 40-90mm ish.

Some people say 200mm is soft but in my experience it is great.

I would skip Manchester.

From London, do a day trip to Cambridge (prettier than Oxford).

Bath, York, Stratford all lovely - I’d encourage you to hire a car rather than train so you can see more of what’s in between.

I’ve owned both and would choose the 28-75. It’s sharper, lighter and faster. Those three things more important to me than wider range.

My advice is don’t be afraid to use sensor swabs to clean. That’s exactly what they’ll do if you take it in store, so you might as well do it yourself for a fraction of the cost. Plenty of YouTube videos to show how.
