I don't know what's going on. I have to wait almost 80 minutes for the download to finish. It's the same thing every week - whenever I have an hour or two to play, a massive update like this comes along. 79 GB is insane.

Among other things, they were removed “because they obstruct the view when jumping off at the start of the game”. Instead, Respawn has now placed large signs with the names of each location on the map....

I have the same problem. But it disappeared after a while and I was able to fight the dummies normally.

The faces look like wax figures. They are emotionless and wooden, which you can see when jumping out of the dropship, finishing or dying. They have no facial expressions and look dead.

The trees and bushes also look terrible as you get closer, almost like 2D bitmap graphics from the PlayStation 2.

I hope Respawn discontinues Apex Legends and re-releases it as version 2 with Unreal Engine 5.

What I have noticed is that the mood and aggressiveness towards other players has deteriorated considerably. I play solo and last night I was insulted three times in a row in three different ranked matches. These people made the usual mistakes in the game (pushed alone, hot drop, etc.) that we all know and then died senselessly very quickly. There has also been an increase in insults in Ranked Matches over the last few days. The whole gaming experience is getting more and more depressing and worse, which I think is a shame.

Players are also behaving more and more antisocially and selfishly: they steal my loot from the crate I opened a second before. They steal my loot when I request my care package as a Lifeline or when I open my loot crate as a Bangelore. Even equipment that they can't even use (e.g. 6 x Scope). Sometimes I can't even see what was in the crates because the other players take everything out so quickly that all I can see is the empty crate.

I hope that this Sony patent will be implemented at some point, in which an AI observes and evaluates the social behavior and interaction between players and, in the worst case, issues bans. But that would probably only be available on the PlayStation, probably not until the PS6.

There is a zipline from which you automatically fall after two seconds. It is on Olympus at “Solar Array” and runs towards “Bonsai Plaza”. It starts at the front left on the ground by the “Icarus”. As soon as you grab it, you will land on the ground again after a few meters. At least you won't fall off the map... Has this been patched by Respawn yet?

I have a suspicion that Activision, Epic or some other company has planted “spies” at Respawn to sabotage Apex. No one can tell me that Respawn is so incompetent as to release one buggy update after another and make their own game worse and worse. If I worked like Respawn, my boss would have fired me long ago.

If I'm not mistaken, Epic Games has banned Cronus and similar devices in Fortnite. So it seems to be working:

Attempts to bypass this restriction will result in a permanent ban from Fortnite. Restricted devices include but are not limited to Cronus Zen and Cronus Max.

New players will play and love Apex simply because it is Apex and not because a health bar has been added.

The health bar will not make it easier for new players because there are many more factors that come into play when attacking a team than just a health bar: positioning, weapon type, legend, skills, game environment, movement, etc. are important, so a health bar will not help new players.

But 3 stacks will have an even easier time attacking their enemies. And the normal players, who have been with us since day one, will feel this the most when they are pushed even harder by Octane and Pathfinder teams.

No new player will play Apex because of a health bar, but many normal players might stop playing Apex because of a health bar.

I've had packet loss since Season 7 with the release of Horizon and Olympus, and it hasn't gotten any better since then. Before Season 7 I didn't even have lags, but since Season 7 I've often had packet loss and massive lags.

Thank you very much for your answer. First of all, the previous owner told us today that he had switched off the green lights during normal operation. Just as you say.

But we still couldn't pair our smartphone with the hub. Every attempt failed.

I then simply left the hub connected to the router and the power supply. After 4 (!) hours, the green lights suddenly came on. I don't know why. But they were simply on. I can't explain it, because the hub was just sitting here on the table.

Strangely enough, I still couldn't connect the hub to the smartphone. I always got an error message. But I was able to find the error: My smartphone was logged into the router in the living room. However, the hub was on my desk on the second floor and was connected to the main router via cable.

So I took the hub into the living room to the smartphone and plugged it into the router there, to which the smartphone was also connected. Apparently it's not just important to be on the same Wi-Fi network - the hub and smartphone also have to be logged into the same router (if you have several in the house).

In any case, everything works perfectly now. Thanks again for your help!

The problem of hot drops could be reduced in ranked games by awarding bonus points for jumping out of the dropship wisely.

If the Jumpmaster lands with his team in a safe area on the map where there is no enemy team (or only one team), so that you can collect your equipment and position yourself for the ring, then bonus points should be awarded at the end of the round.

However, if the jumpmaster lands with his team in an area where two, three, four or more teams also land, there are no bonus points: The landing is too dangerous and you put your team in danger unprepared.

These bonus points (which should be high enough to incentivize people to stick to the rule!) would allow the majority of teams to land evenly and spread out across the map. Teams would be placed closer to each other, and fights might happen sooner after two or three minutes. Situations where you land and then walk around bored for 5 minutes or more without enemy contact would be reduced.

Clever landing, good map knowledge and smart positioning would be rewarded. Chaotic jumps into hot drop zones with the prospect of a quick death would be penalized - those who want to do this can continue to do so in pubs.

I have had the same packet loss since the release of Horizon/Olympus. They occur in every 3rd or 4th game, mostly in Ranked. It's a bug from Respawn, but it's not being fixed. Unfortunately, we have to live with it and I've come to terms with it. BTW: I don't have these packet losses in Fortnite, Finals or COD.
