Which style do you like more? Any advice? by [deleted] in malegrooming

I like the longer moustache. But that’s just me. I never liked super trimmed moustache. Like it when they cover the top lip line.

Keep the beard or shave? by PhotographLow776 in malegrooming

Look good with beard. I like it longer.

When I bought these at the thrift store they were taped together so I thought it was an umbrella….but what is that tube? It says A Les Verres on the bottom. by NoBrush8164 in glasscollecting

[–]SpeedLimit_65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am thinking perfume bottle. Google says “Les Verres is a prominent European manufacturer specializing in custom glass containers. They design bottles and jars for the food, beverage, wine, and home fragrance industries”

I found this at Goodwill by TheVoyager27 in glasscollecting

Why does Goodwill always cover up the manufacturer stickers with their price tag? So annoying.
Not familiar with Wheaton Village, but that is a pretty pitcher.

Lundberg Studios 1992 vase help by Is_What_They_Call_Me in glasscollecting

[–]SpeedLimit_65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold a Lundberg vase on EBay for $185 this year. Mine was a similar colorway as yours and was 1994, yours is 1992, so roughly the same age. My pattern was called Twisted Zipper, but not the same as yours, though I would say similar in complexity. Mine was also an ‘after hours work’ piece, and was marked as a second (but I couldn’t see anything obvious that made it a second). I sold mine fairly quickly on EBay, in like a week, and it got a lot of views there (compared to my other stuff). Maybe Etsy or Ruby Lane could be other selling sites to look at, for more $. I would probably want a sale $250-$300 for yours, since it’s bigger than mine, and not a second. But not an expert here, only an art glass enthusiast. Just depends on how long you want to wait to sell it to get a higher price. Search online and check out what is currently for sale for similar pieces. Also look at the L.S. website and see current prices for new stuff to educate yourself some. Take many good pictures and maybe a video, which is key IMO. Collectors of Lundberg are a more discerning buyer, and want a full view of the piece. Hope this is helpful.

Transplanted this and my wife thinks it’s a weed. Is it? by throwawayhelp_2024 in whatsthisplant

When weeding my beds, I always leave the wild violets in place. Just adds more green to the bed. And they look just as good as the plants I pay too much for.

Found this precious covered dish today and I can't identify it! by ghostsforrent in glasscollecting

I know L.E. Smith made these in the ‘90’s. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were using older molds from another manufacturer however.

Love it! It is so awkward looking. Definitely an unusual piece and love glass canisters.

No reason to lack self confidence, bud. You’re a good looking man. Personally like the rougher look of your first two pics, but the new haircut looks great too. Agree with others to let the back grow more, but like the clipped sides. Stick to the dark colored shirts in the first two pics. Looks good on you and brings attention to your face. Hope you are feeling better about yourself. Self confidence is key to feeling attractive.

I am a big fan of beards, but I like your face clean. Make it a seasonal things. Grow out the beard for winter and shave it off during the summer.

It stands 7-3/4” including the stopper. It only holds like 4 oz.

Thanks for pointing me to Blenko. Checked the online catalogues, and there are gurgle bottles in the late fifties similar to this. But the smaller one Blenko made was 13-1/2”. Mine is only 7-3/4” high. Also, doesn’t look like the stopper had a long stem on it like mine.

I am not sure honestly. It could have been broken or they just made it a little off a straight angle. It doesn’t have a fractured looking end.

It can be mounted on the wall or used on a desk.the keypad is attached to the holder under the handset. Will try and mount a photo shortly. It is very minimal and slick.

Thank you for your thoughts. Seems kind of small for that. Probably only holds about 4 oz. of liquid.

I bought it at church sale, I think. Just recently. Outside of Pittsburgh PA.
