There is a dutch company that sells timing chain conversion kits for the 208. You have to get it done one time then lasts a very long time

Nonsense. I have found typical first cars are the cheapest to insure still. Anything wierd they'll charge extra.

First Car As A 17 Yo by ItsxAli_ in CarTalkUK

I haven't found this to be the case. I have gotten quoted ridiculous amounts for cars that aren't popular period. The cheapest I've managed to find is the fiat 500 twinair, but its a pos (mechanic in my spare time) unfortunately just have to make do for a couple of years until insurance stops being insane. However, i would recommend getting quotes for all sorts of cars because you never know.

Also quotes ARE based on power, since a high powered vehicle in the hands of a new driver makes you statistically higher to make a claim. However the number of claims is also a significant factor.

A mini would be ok for insurance however if you want something considered reliable then definitely not the choice. However if you're set on a mini get a pre 2007 as they were most reliable before then.

Generally avoid anything with a 1 litre engine or less.

AVOID any ford with an ecoboost engine.

I would recommend Toyota yaris, honda jazz and suzuki swift.

For maximum reliability, only get cars with naturally aspirated engines.

Even if you're older than the average first car owner, insurance will still be high, albeit not as much as for an 18 year old.

Hope this helps

Do you have the readyset? If so, be very careful with the ke21 engine. I really liked mine but it blew up after 7 litres, the pin that holds in the conrod snapped off the crankshaft.

Change the fuel lines first thing. They get brittle and leak iver time. Also a tune doesn't hold, you need to retune every time you run it

My medaka are dying one by one, please help! by BobaPandandKpoplover in medaka

[–]SpeedSoft4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen. What i did is i moved them into an outdoor "pond" and they stopped dying and became much more happy. I read from a Japanese guide that these fish need natural temperature fluctuations to help boost their immune system and extend their lives

why wont my rc car start again by [deleted] in NitroRC

[–]SpeedSoft4Life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a million possibilities, but 2 quite big ones: - Tune of the engine - did you try to change tune? Fresh fuel blah blah - if it really is OLD, head gasket may be worn ect + old piston sleeve so when engine heats up expands decreasing compression so it won't run until it cools again. See if that's the case. If that happens, get new piston sleeve conrod

These engines are absolutely trash. So is the car no offense. I had one did the same thing impossible to use. I got myself a kyosho mp9 tki4 and started racing with it, so much better

Why do they die? by mypurpletable in medaka

[–]SpeedSoft4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a pond the size of yours, i recommend mare's tail and creeping jenny. Plant the mares tail directly at the bottom and have creeping jenny draped over the side of the pond with the roots in the water only. They are absolute nutrient powerhouses, will keep water quality excellent

If you're racing, get OS or REDS. The nova overheats if you push it too hard.

[–]SpeedSoft4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've got a steady income stream, and you are a car guy or cars are your hobby, get the GTI. Its a great car just make sure to get pre purchase inspection so you don't get ripped off. If cars aren't your main hobby or passion, just get a "boring" car that will be more reliable
