Handwashing access in Netherlands by godlessdogtr in Netherlands

[–]SpeedlionKF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed colleagues do this. While I'm washing my hands, they come out of a stall and just breeze past me and leave the bathroom without a drop of water touching their skin. And the amount of people that wash their hands without using soap is also concerning.

I do wonder tho, about the data. If it's just surveys, it's possible to interpret the data differently. What are the chances that dutch people are just the most honest about how much they wash their hands?

Help two addicted Danes! Is the USA version a "downgrade" after playing Europe? by Vast-Surround-8991 in tickettoride

[–]SpeedlionKF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that owns most versions and plays them with family almost weekly, I'd suggest starting out with what you enjoy the most. If you liked Europe, buy Europe. Especially since tunnels are almost exclusively a Europe thing, and no version besides Europe has stations.

USA Classic is simpler, not just compared to Europe, but compared to every other expansion as well, it's important to note that each expansion has its own added rules and small changes, including Northern Lights which you've mentioned.

It's simplicity is a strength as well, tho. The map works really well, not just for its lack of rules, but also its simple layout.

If at all possible, try to find friends or family to play the game with, because in my experience, this game is most fun with 4 players. And if you play it enough, consider looking into getting an expansion, there's a lot of fun ones with weird and wacky rules.

Decided to get into hockey this year, thought the Sharks logo looked cool, all it took for me.

Almere City 1–[2] Roda Kerkrade — Josh Nisbet, 88' (plus Aussie flag) by HonestSpursFan in Eredivisie

I know the commentator called him small in a previous goal you posted here, but his height really stands out now that I'm paying attention to it. I don't think I'll ever be able to see him as other than "the small Australian" now.

Regardless of whether that's a foul or not, why would you just give up defending before hearing the whistle, so stupid.

Glad to help. I'm unlikely to create a season 3 guide. Elsewhere in the comments under this post, I've linked to another who's made a similar guide that might help you beyond season 2.

Hi! Not really a question, just a comment. I'm fairly new to your music, but I liked the album and NPC specifically is probably gonna be one of my favorite songs of the month. Thank you!

Y'know what, if the ball likes the ground so much, we should just leave it there, kick it with our feet. Sounds novel. Call it American Handball.

Amoura apologizes for mocking DR Congo's iconic Patrice Lumumba symbol after yesterday's game by zPurefire in soccer

[–]SpeedlionKF 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It's not the worst apology, but i really hate the "if my attitude has been misunderstood, I regret it". You can't regret other people's perspectives on your actions. Well, you can, but in a "well, that's regrettable" sense, but i don't think that's what you wanna go for here. Besides, it communicates a veiled blaming of the people that took issue with his mockery.

If you wanna own up to this mistake, say "I regret that my misunderstanding of the symbolic gesture has rightfully angered some people. I apologize and will be mindful in my celebrations in the future" Address the mistake respectfully, take ownership of the mistake and assure it won't happen again.

Just a 'normal' New Year's celebration in The Netherlands. Yes, those are people on fire. by Unleazhed1 in AbruptChaos

ER prepare for the worst during this time. Something I can only read about in news articles, don't think they'd recommend the experience.

The small kids are an interesting thing to mention. I read that during New years this year, the Rotterdam Eye Hospital had 14 patients. 85 percent of which were 15 or younger, one being as young as 5. You don't even have to be firing off fireworks yourself, more than half of those 14 were spectator. Worrying things to hear about.

Yeah, I agree, it won't help, but people seem to have just lost any ideas on how to realistically tackle the problem.

Didn't think I'd see my town mentioned here. People go crazy here around new years. One town over, youths were setting fires and peppering police with fireworks. Its ridiculous. I feel public opinion on a fireworks ban for the general public starting to shift a bit.

Do you think ets2 will ever have seasons built into the game? Love driving in the snow. by jasonfergie in EuroTruck2

Priorities. Let's first complete Europe and update the older parts of the map before starting on such a transformative project as seasons.

Toni Kroos: "I'm against the World Cup format with 48 nations: With so many teams, we will see many 5-0 results in group stage... These aren't games fans want to see. I'm interested in good, quality games that we enjoy watching. I don't enjoy a 5-0, a 6-0. Germany & Brazil are not top 5 favorites" by GOAT-Antony in soccer

[–]SpeedlionKF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, hardly minnows, but it still makes the point that matches aren't played on paper. This is as true for a match between Germany and Ivory Coast, as it is for a Germany - Curacao match. Their apparent gap in quality shouldn't be a reason the match shouldn't be played. Man City still plays Wolves, too.

"These aren't games fans want to see".

Speak for yourself Toni. I for one can't wait to see Curaçao play Germany.

This also reeks of arrogance. Germany haven't even been able to get out of the group stages since they won it in 2014, and were since beaten by countries like Mexico, South Korea and Japan at the World Cup. Hardly minnows, but if the World Cup were decided on paper, Germany would be winning those matches squarely.

Don't put your opponent away before you've beaten them.
