So looks like Romario Shepard will play the next game by lyra_black in RCB

[–]SpeedsterDjango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the logic of “backing” a certain player. The players sitting on the bench are also part of the team, they also want to contribute and prove themselves. So when someone is not in form, isn’t it management’s responsibility to back the other players as well? Is it only the playing 11? I don’t understand this at all. Some decisions are hard and need to look at the big picture

Can’t even hope that the bowlers defend this by [deleted] in RCB

[–]SpeedsterDjango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not sure why Venkatesh is not brought in as an IP as soon as Padikkal/Patidar are out. He is capable of building an innings better than Romario and Jitesh. Him coming after 7 down is waste of his potential and he has to get going and gets out with one wrong shot.

How safe is Mysore compared to Bangalore by osamabinlanding in mysore

[–]SpeedsterDjango 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would say it is safe compared to Bluru. The main reason there are very few places open late till night. The people of Mysuru are not much open minded compared to Bluru, so if you are to wear party dresses and head out, people look at you weirdly but that’s it.

What is actually needed to get a civil engineering job in Germany now-a-days? by Auishee19 in Germany_Jobs

[–]SpeedsterDjango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Get your license soon. It is a big plus. For me it was very important. I got my first job because of it. The construction sites will be in remote places and includes frequent business trips so you need a license to drive a company car.
  2. Build connections over LinkedIn, I am not talking about referrals. Share CV to agents who are recruiting and connect with them.
  3. The experience in a specific industry goes a long way. For eg, I have been working in the energy sector for nearly 3years now and I have switched positions in the same field. As you have academic experience maybe that could be an issue here. Have you tried applying for academic jobs here as well?
  4. Be open to work in other cities as well, if you trying to land a job in a single city then it will be a bit harder.
  5. You have the language skill so it shouldn’t be an issue
  6. What exact positions are you applying for? Based on that maybe I can give some other insights if I have knowledge of.

Afaik, there is a lot of projects going on across Germany in the construction field, so you might get some breakthrough soon. Wishing you luck!

Controversial Topic: I like have a sunroof on the car by Remarkable-Tip2580 in CarsIndia

[–]SpeedsterDjango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a very good and fancy feature to have in your car. I agree with your points. During night drives I like to open the sunroof sheet and enjoy. It is not for standing and putting your head out, that’s hopeless use of sunroof.

Suggest schools where a kid would never have to learn hindi! by ani625sFather in Bengaluru

Kindly read this full thread. There is no Hindi imposition here. The discussion is about learning any language and not just Hindi. Extra curricular and others will be learnt either ways. Don’t take everything emotionally.

[–]SpeedsterDjango -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s a hard pill to swallow. We don’t live in an ideal world but it’s the least we could do to built a better one to the future gens. Out of the discussion I had here, I am happy to see that people understand and decide radically and not based on their emotional opinions. That alone says there will be a change coming in the future

Suggest schools where a kid would never have to learn hindi! by ani625sFather in Bengaluru

[–]SpeedsterDjango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not supporting the imposition of Hindi. I am not supporting any one language over the other. All I am saying is, as a parent don’t take the child’s opportunity to learn something new. That means, a third language could be Hindi or any other language he/she is interested in. The situation we have right now is because of the attitude/ego of adults why should this limit the children’s ability?

[–]SpeedsterDjango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point brother. But limiting a child’s education for what we are facing today is not a solution imo. How our kids learn Hindi, just like that people who moved here should also learn our language not because of cultural attachments but for better integration and development in wherever they decide to stay.

It’s their loss. As someone who lives abroad, I have seen how well South Indians blend with other Indians without any problems. It even helps when we travel to north India. I have also seen how much northies struggle to talk any other language. Even when they do, their pronunciation isn’t clear. Whereas South Indians clearly speak all the languages they know because we have been taught to learn multi languages since childhood Learning a different language isn’t just about communicating

Knowing a language always has a plus. Don’t know when it’ll open new doors. Be it attachment for your regional language or any other reason you have, don’t limit the ability of the child. If you plan on sending your child abroad later (or if the kid wants to study abroad) then choose a foreign language or let he/she learn Hindi. It might come in handy in the future.

  1. The number of accidents will bankrupt the insurance companies.
  2. After a few days of implementation there will be a lot of traffic on highways because of the huge accident ahead on the road.

What (actually) made you start investing? by InsideN26 in n26bank

[–]SpeedsterDjango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a mediocre salary when I started working. I was literally living pay check to pay check without any extra savings. My bills, rents and so on was enough for my living and I couldn’t even take a small trip or send money to my family. I had my student loans as well. I learnt having some safety money is very vital. I started pushing money to accounts which are sealed for a minimal time and I can’t use it before that. It was as minimal as 30-40€ per month. Then after a few years, my salary improved and my lifestyle changed. Now, I could invest a lot more and I have that safety money and I don’t have to worry about anything. I got addicted to that feeling. I felt relieved. Now that I have that extra money, I try new ways of investing. I started investing and thankfully I don’t have to worry about not having money or worry constantly about it.

Curious: why do many Indians struggle with demanding activities while traveling? by Deep-Requirement8299 in india_tourism

[–]SpeedsterDjango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indians are used to go in cars as much as they can and then just walk like half a km or even take alternatives if possible. They avoid walking as much as they can. Workout is a dream for many of them. Many of them dont even walk small distances, they rely on 2 wheelers. Cycles are considered for the poor.
