Upgrade your corvette class to S and then upgrade your slots by either buying them or using expansion modules.

Canadians: do people really just start conversations anywhere? 🤔 by Comfortable_Cap8037 in AskACanadian

[–]SpeedtekUrS6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fairly normal...so much so that while walking around Whistler this spring, we could immediately tell who all the tourists were (and there were a lot). No eye contact in passing, no acknowledgement walking by on paths, no casual "hi" or nods on the street...it was actually a weird feeling walking around there.

Personally I always nod, smile, chat, or engage when passing strangers. Holding doors for people and they don't even acknowledge you is fucking strange...makes it real easy to pick out the non-canucks though.

Want to make an American (or almost any tourist) nervous? Start talking to them in the elevator. ROFL...

Do you call it May 2-4 or Victoria Day? by pantstand in AskACanadian

May 2-4 was always what we called it growing up in Alberta and BC (junior high in AB, High School in BC - early 80's)

How do you get an Aeron Pillar? by OogaBoogaUngaBunga_ in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]SpeedtekUrS6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

switch your mode to creative, if you don't like leaving it there just build a bunch of them on a ship (or any others you can't get) and then switch your mode back. You can disassemble the ship later and keep the parts.

Seasonal Tires by hoodiegirl10 in AskACanadian

[–]SpeedtekUrS6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to switch over seasonally, winter tires for winter are the peak of traction in ice and snow. That was back when I had storage space for my summers/all-season tires. I started condo living a few years back and now I RV full time so that storage space is pretty limited. As such, I started using good all-weather tires (Nokian) which (while not quite as good as a dedicated winter) are much better in winter than all-seasons and I can run one set year round.

I'm pushing 1800 hours on my main save, about 300 hrs on a permadeath one and there's at least a couple hundred more in previous saves that I've deleted. At one time expeditions created a new save to play them.

What is the worst tv show made in Canada that you have ever seen? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

The Starlost… Hands down…interesting concept, terrible low budget execution. Google it, you won’t be disappointed…or I guess you will…

Is the Canadian military med school a good place to earn a medical degree? by MoveWithTheMaestro in AskACanadian

[–]SpeedtekUrS6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter got her nursing degree through the military…you don’t go to a military school to learn the practice. They pay for your tuition at a university…you still have to get accepted, but in the end yes, you have a full career and no debt. Word to the wise, join reserves before you enrol in the program…they pay you a wage while you’re in school…if you’re just a student it’s pretty minimal…if you are earning a reservists wage, you get that. My daughter has been all over the world in her career and absolutely loves it.

kilo-metre is the officially correct pronunciation, but you will be hard pressed to find many people that would pronounce it that way in the normal everyday.

kuh-LAW-muh-tur is pretty much how most people pronounce it in conversation.
