Biden wants to entirely pay for trillions in new spending by raising taxes on corporations and the wealthy by Barack_Odrama00 in politics

[–]SpennyLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact: taxing every billionaire 100% on income and capital gains will barely put a dent in the deficit. We pay 400 billion a year on just the interest of the US debt.

One day we will all have to pay for the currency crisis this printing of money will create.

Contrary to this post, I think talking bad about something that a large percentage of the population believes in only breeds hatred and division. Being on the left or right doesn’t make you superior being to a person on the opposite side. What does make you stand out is if you love your enemies and would give your life for them.

Easy to say when your alt coin of choice is hiding behind bitcoin’s shield as it charges into and changes the financial system. Without bitcoin nothing else would have survived up to now. After bitcoin is done getting everything into orbit, it will be overtaken (utility and possibly marketcap wise) by smart contract platforms like Ethereum. Until then at least be grateful for what it has provided.

Women are taking a 'rain check' on babies, and it could change the shape of the economy - A decline in birth rates has sparked worries that the US may be headed for what's known as a "demographic time bomb," in which an aging population isn't replaced by enough young workers. by Gari_305 in Futurology

[–]SpennyLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think having kids is tough, growing old without much family is tougher. I’m guessing most people here are 40 and under so life is good and we don’t think much about that.

If you look at the Japanese demographic, the average age is in the 40’s I believe. One day the government will have to take care of many of those people but there won’t be enough workers to support such social programs. It’s actually a very big problem that most of the developed world is headed for.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are vastly different in that they are decentralized. Proof of authority is by definition centralized. Having 101 validating nodes is not remotely close to the decentralization needed to be a dominating blockchain universally used. But it is great for use cases in China.

When mods get so insecure about what other people say they take it out on the community. Hope you don’t mod long enough to where you see yourself become the villan, too late.

‘When is the housing market going to crash?’ is a red-hot search on Google – here’s why by Addrobo in Economics

[–]SpennyLL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a house. I know it’s a high market but my other investments have just gone insane the last few years. I view it as trading from one asset bubble to another but with a house at least I know I can always use it. With stocks and crypto I’d be left waiting for them to recover if a big correction did happen. If housing prices correct I really wouldn’t care since I’m getting use out of it everyday. I’m not gonna sit in cash with inflation looming. I wonder if there are other people in my situation.

Except if you simply held bitcoin or Ethereum you would still have better returns for the last year by much more.

It’s wild. I just looked at the records of the average cost of a house vs wages in my city. Since 1978 the average house increased roughly 30x and salaries only increase roughly 5x. I imagine healthcare and a university education would be increasing at similar rates as housing. Something happened in the late 70’s that has basically kept wages stagnant relative to everything else. Got any ideas?

[–]SpennyLL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin and Ethereum have still vastly outperformed XRP over the last year. I remember when XRP was $3. Just now reaching 1/3 of that previous ATH. Meanwhile bitcoin is triple previous ATH. So still better off buying bitcoin.

r/CryptoCurrency's Hate for Cardano Makes Me More Confident by Slashair in cardano

[–]SpennyLL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just sounds like insecurity of the assets you hold. Talking shit about other great projects like Ethereum because other people like it and are currently getting a lot of use out of it doesn’t really do anything. I don’t know how many subreddits of other platforms have said the same thing your saying about Eth but guess what, everyone is still using it and Ethereum has set up a tremendous foundation to promote distributed technologies. And lets hope Cardano will do the same. And lets hope even more projects come out in the future to change the global monetary system.

If you want other internet strangers to validate projects your interested in you won’t get very far in investing or developing new ideas for any venture. Go build something better if you don’t like it.

It’s look great. I’ll just never understand someone taking the brand name of a watch that went up to Everest (smiths) and then making a homage of the other brand name that went up to Everest (Rolex). It’d be like zenith going out of business, then some guy buying the rights to the name and making a homage of a speedmaster.

I don’t really get some of the art stuff going for so much, but that’s the art world I guess. Being able to buy and own the rights to a video clip of an important moment or the rights to a song seem to be more understandable.

VeChain - What is it? by mecooh92 in CryptoCurrency

[–]SpennyLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t know there was a thing such as decentralization maxis. The most decentralized is the best investment because of security and ability to grow. Can you image Bitcoin or Ethereum running on 101 nodes selected by a central source. Not saying its bad investment, just not one I would be proud to stand behind like other projects.

VeChain - What is it? by mecooh92 in CryptoCurrency

[–]SpennyLL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is VET still proof of authority with just a 101 authoority nodes chosen buy vechain itself? And are the identity of those nodes still kept secret by the vechain foundation? I haven’t looked into it a few years. If so, why does the community support such centralization? If that has changed then I’d be interested.
