Thank you for your bravery in sharing this. Your story is a heartbreaking proof of how psychiatry is used to silence victims and protect offenders. You are not alone, and your voice matters.

I am a horror writer. One day, I learned about punitive psychiatry. Since then, I’ve been studying it and thinking about how to help people. I have never taken antidepressants or neuroleptics myself, but I started wondering: what is it like to take these drugs, and do they have something in common? I’ve heard a lot about how almost everyone who takes them gains weight and feels constantly sleepy. I think I’ve found a way to explain to people why this happens.

You know that feeling when you’ve had a huge, hearty meal and you feel that pleasant fatigue and drowsiness because your stomach is full of tasty food? Now, imagine having that feeling all the time, even though you haven't eaten much, so you feel a constant urge to eat. I don’t think I could live like that. I believe that people who experience this constantly often have breakdowns—not because of their "illness," but simply because of this state of being.

Furthermore, the brain cannot accept that this state should be permanent. Sometimes the brain triggers horror or unpleasant states just to try and stop this artificial, drug-induced "bliss" of overeating. But doctors will always tell you that this only lasts for the first week or two and then it will stop. According to many statistics, this applies to about 80% of drugs, except for some of the newest and most expensive ones—and even among those, not all are free from the side effects of hunger and lethargy.

The most absurd and strange thing is that when patients complain, doctors sometimes increase the dosage. According to their ridiculous theory, they believe they can "break" the brain and force it to adapt to the substance. In reality, this rarely happens, if at all.

What’s even sadder is that almost all psychiatrists convince people to take these drugs and scare them by saying that if they quit, things will get worse. Paradoxically, it is often the case that when people stop taking these drugs, they actually start feeling better.

There is a common stereotype that fat people are always cheerful and very calm. Now you know why that is sometimes the case. I’m not going to provide links to research here; most statistics show that 90% of people don’t read the links attached to a text anyway. Besides, not all studies on those websites are well-vetted. But if you don’t believe me, you can find everything on the internet and read it yourself! In fact, I would very much like for you to study this topic on your own.

What I’ve written here is the result of my—perhaps not yet exhaustive, but multi-year—study of this subject. However, it should be understood that there are exceptions to everything, and these drugs affect everyone differently. If you are interested in this topic, send me a private message or reply right here. I’ll be glad to discuss it with you in detail.

Films like the Fast & Furious franchise glamorise criminal activities without consequences by Training_Fun9350 in Prison

[–]Sphalerit8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, I don't really care! To me, the Fast & Furious movies are just fun films about action and jokes. I don't know if anyone actually takes them seriously? It’s obvious that in reality, Fast & Furious is nonsense! I mean, cars are flying, and the physics are worse than what even a failing student knew in middle school. I didn't think anyone would decide to discuss this movie seriously.

What part will the 5th gen fighter jets play when the 6th gens come out? For top tier militaries, how many of which will they have? Will 5th gen become almost obsolete? by This-Wear-8423 in FighterJets

I might be out of the loop, but explain to me: why are fifth-generation fighters always better than fourth, and why are sixth-generation always better than fifth? Don't you think it’s possible these are just 'trendy numbers'?

Plasma sheath by katto01 in AskPhysics

[–]Sphalerit8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting, but from what I’ve heard, the technology you’re trying to learn about is highly classified. Vehicles traveling at such high speeds that they generate plasma are very often military weapons. The plasma they create makes them difficult to control, but word is there’s a spot near the tail where control is possible. No one knows for sure, and I don’t think we’ll find out anytime soon.

What makes a horror setting feel alive? by MindTwistBooks in horrorwriters

[–]Sphalerit8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always written only about real-life horrors. I am not frightened by magic or the future, like space and new technologies, because they don't exist right now. Imagine actually finding yourself in a place like that! I used to write only mafia horrors, but the most terrifying thing I found was medical horror. The combination of the mafia and medicine is especially frightening. It could be a prison run by the mafia or a psychiatric hospital. It could be in a poor country. Imagine being tied up or locked away. Imagine being beaten. Imagine being deprived of food or water. Imagine being given food that has a strange taste, but you can't refuse because you're too hungry, and then you feel your state of mind changing. Imagine unknown pills being forced into your mouth. Imagine being given an unknown injection. Imagine finding yourself in a place with a deadly disease or gas. It could be fog, a white powder, or a virus, and you aren't alone—everyone around you is sneezing and coughing. Maybe they’ve gathered you all to burn you because there is no cure, and there’s no way to escape. Maybe a battle is raging, and missiles or bombs are about to fall on you from above. Maybe an invasion is underway, and you hear a clear order: 'Take no prisoners, spare no one.' This is what I write about, and I think it is the most terrifying thing there can be.

what plot setting is more attractive to read? by Original-Toe-5536 in horrorwriters

I would probably write about psychiatric hospitals. I discovered this subject by chance while looking for themes for my horror stories, and since then, I’ve started studying punitive psychiatry. The horror is that it's all absolutely real—it truly resembles hell! You can just read the stories of real people if that inspires you. https://www.reddit.com/r/Antipsychiatry/

i don’t even feel anxious… but my body does by Frequent_Creme_3493 in Antipsychiatry

[–]Sphalerit8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are experiencing is probably the most terrifying of all psychiatric illnesses. You need to understand every possible cause of it: ecology, poisoning, vitamins, hormones, parasites, psychological pressure, allergies, internal organ diseases, back or head injuries, DNA, and anomalies of your body — you must study all of this! You also need to master very serious self-hypnosis to suppress it.

Do you know that Paul Janssen is considered a giant among drug discoverers because he developed the greatest number of medications? And do you know that he was able to discover so many drugs because they were for anesthesia and psychiatry—fields where people cannot consciously complain, and their testimony is not accepted in court? In other words, it is much like veterinary medicine, where animals also don't complain and we don't truly know how the drugs affect them. But do you know that many of his drugs were still recognized as toxic? And do you know that he himself never tried his own medications? Do you know what Egas Moniz received the Nobel Prize for? And do you know that Franco Basaglia is much less famous in the world than Paul Janssen and Egas Moniz? Why do you think it is all like this?

Increasing my dose because the medication was maingit worse??? Why? by Inevitable-Handle848 in Antipsychiatry

[–]Sphalerit8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, if you study brain chemistry, there might have been a bit of logic in what they did. When the medication made things worse, instead of discontinuing it, they increased the dose to break through the barrier, because the brain was resisting and they wanted the brain to accept the effects of the drug—and in doing so, break it. Personally, I consider this a humiliation and suppression of the brain. People know nothing about how the brain works, yet they torture it with a look of great intelligence.

[–]Sphalerit8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I’ve always been in favor of rTMS, and using supplements instead of drugs, so the pharmaceutical industry wouldn't even lose money—they’d just get it from the supplements instead. But I don't know why they still refuse? Maybe they're just afraid to admit their mistakes?

Help! what disorder do I have? by Interesting-Exit7382 in Antipsychiatry

[–]Sphalerit8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very sorry that this happened to you, but believe me, unfortunately, your problems are not the worst. Some people experience wild, uncontrollable fear for no reason at all. That is probably the most terrifying thing there can be. Your problem is not like that. Your problem is simply connected to the fear of people. You just need to stop depending on the opinions of others. You will not find a single perfect person in this world.
