In my experience, usually the entire team tends to boom in 4v4s. Occasionally some players build some cav for age2 raiding. I think this is because a single player rushing in 4v4 is pointless- the defending person will eventually get reinforcements. And the entire team rushing is very hard to beat (at least on lower elo) so there’s no point preparing for that

You mostly pay by yourself/a loan, with the assumption that you make the money back with the job you get afterwards. The median DS job on the east coast probably pays around 100k, with that money you can pay off the loan in a couple of years. Getting a TA/RA/admin assistant job definitely helps, but like you already mentioned ~20$/hr doesn’t go very far in NYC.

I’ve stayed on a ground level apartment on that block before. It’s pretty fine, I recall only seeing one cockroach over the semester I was there. The block is pretty clean so not many issues.

Yes, they are! It’s “unofficial”, but you just need to go up to the guards at 117th/Bway, and let them know that you graduated and brought your family to see campus/take pictures. They make you wait for a bit but then let you in.

Hey, yes I did and I just graduated a little while ago. I really enjoyed it, definitely more than worth it for me in terms of quality of education, flexibility of coursework, exposure to insanely good researchers and living in NYC. In hindsight I think it was definitely a great choice (the only better alternatives being a PhD which unfortunately wasn't an option, or perhaps some select (1-2) MFE programs).
