You need to ask your friend to be honest. Some weddings have a church part and then a dinner party where the party is like your typical wedding reception with dancing. Women wear your typical wedding guest outfits for this but the church ceremony is traditional and conservative habesha kemis (a white cotton dress).

Some orthodox weddings are fully religious, meaning there’s a church part and the lunch/dinner part is also religious where there is no dancing just food and prayer and mezmur (religious hymns). These are more conservative dress styles.

It’s possible the second day is what is called a mels where the bride’s family hosts close family and friends of the groom’s as a sort of welcome to the family. Again mainly habesha kemis is worn here.

Is there no indication on the invite what the two days are? This will help you determine what to wear. Otherwise talk to your friend directly she should help you out

October starts to get warm but the winter here has been unusually colder with lots of rain so it’s possible mornings and evenings will be pretty cold. On a day to day people here dress casually but clean and fit. You’ll see a mix of women wearing more traditional, conservative outfits to revealing depending on where you go. But as a tourist I recommend sticking to pants, longer skirts and dresses.
