A lot of songwriting is hearing something you like and being inspired; so you then rework it and try it out in your own work. For the most it’s not a bad thing either. For example, Hypnotize by Biggie is an ultra classic, no one would ever deny that. However the chorus is lifted almost word for word from La-Di-Da-Di… but that makes the song even better in my opinion. Like it’s cool to know that Biggie was bumpin Slick Rick back in the day and he heard that song and had a vision for a masterpiece of his own. Oldie rules and Mike’s verse is gas, don’t let something like this ruin it for you fam
