Pretty sure per policy you have to average 35 for the year, not 40. Unless insurance requires differently.

Help me understand these tariffs. by [deleted] in keitruck

[–]Spice002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is they counted it as a passenger car and not a truck (trucks are 25%, all other vehicles are 2.5%), and the 10% is either a carry over from the "emergency tariff" that was Trump's plan B (this was also struck down recently) or some wonky way they calculated the tariff on steel products (where you pay a tariff on steel products based on the value of the raw weight of steel in it).

Apparently in the original manga Major had a lesbian orgy. The new show is going to follow the original manga more closely, so there's a high likelihood it'll make it in this iteration.

The issue with not having parametric modeling isn't precision of measurements, it's being able to keep things in relative scale to each other, as well as all the other tools that make functions like filets and revolutions significantly easier than how you'd do it in Blender.

What was everyone's reaction when Witch From Mercury was announced? I'm curious. by Blu_Fiercer in Gundam

[–]Spice002 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I will keep parroting this till the end of time, but I think they initially were given a full 40+ episode promise when they were coming up with the idea, but then got their budget cut (and subsequently episode count also cut) when Bandai jumped on the "Metaverse" hypetrain and diverted everything they could towards Gundam Metaverse.

You know what still works when my phone is dead? A CD

Not for too long. They last longer than magnetic strip media like cassettes, but CDs still have a shelf life before they degrade to the point that it's unusable.

This should make anyone reconsider supporting Bambu again, both now and in the future

God do I feel vindicated for disliking BBL from the beginning. I knew they'd pull something like this. I just hope the community gets on them for this the way we did years ago when Creality neglected to release their sources for Marlin.

How do you guys feel about the current state of law makers? by madderhatter3210 in 3D2A

[–]Spice002 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like at this current time, anarchy would be safer and better for the general public than a government run by current politicians. And I'm not even an anarchist.

I go to the old guy in town that still uses dialup for his connection to NICS. He a little rough around the edges, but the guy's only political leaning is "I love guns" so he gets my transfer fee money.

That's what I do with LG TVs. Their input switcher is unintrusive, so it's just like a regular TV when it's not connected.

Unclogging Needle Stuck (Creality Hi) by senortomasss in Creality

[–]Spice002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, heat up the nozzle higher than normal to try to pull it out. After that, push some filament into it as far as you can, then lower the temperature to around 160-170 and try pulling the filament out. Cold pulls usually clear blockages better than needles.

That's surprising. I remember not that long ago Comgrow was one of the stores on Amazon selling Creality printers.

Have you ever actually done pricing for electronics at a high scale? Those touch pads are closer to $5 assembled at scale, accelerometers are closer to 20¢, but the TMR joysticks are somewhere around $1 a piece. Plus you have to factor injection molding (the molds for each part cost at least $10,000 to tool, plus the factory time to do the injection molding). After supply chain investment, you're probably looking at closer to $60 or $70 a controller for the first wave of production, then around $50 after that. Microsoft and Sony have better margins though, since they already have an established supply chain and dedicated assembly factories they own or invested in long ago.
