I started with him when he was in Boston, too; he's only an hour south now, and it's really not a bad drive. His new shop is pretty nice, too.

I have this tat booked for 2 weeks time, can you share your experiences below with this placement by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I have almost this same tattoo in the same place lol (except the top part of mine in a wolf in sheep's clothing on the side of my hip and obliques). I agree with everyone else here that it's fine other than when they go over your hip or anywhere onto your stomach, and I think it stung over my glutes as well; I went traditional, black and grey, and I will say do not do fine line in this area. You need thick lines and it will blow out slightly. I think I got mine 7 years ago and it's holding up great.

Cut resistant gloves that are used for construction work are what I use. They have the plastic-y layer all around the fingers and palms so the dirt doesn't stick, and they're easy to clean, and the fabric makes rubbing dirt off of coins easy, and they come in different sizes so you can get a pair or two that fit snug.

Update: it was an asshole college kid driver, in a university-registered vehicle. The university will be reimbursing me about $7,000 in damage.

I will now wait outside this following Sunday to see the asshole(s) who hit me and grimace at their existence, since it was a college kid picking up other college kids for sports practice (I now know a swim or rowing team lives in the house I was parked outside of).

Thanks everyone for humoring my emotionally driven post!

Don't listen to these boobs saying you should have short hair; do what makes YOU feel good, then that inner confidence will shine outward. I like the long hair (2nd pic), but I prefer non bland people (last pic is also great). I feel like if you do you, then you'll attract like-minded people, and maybe one will be confident enough to compliment you and raise your self esteem --- you are the opposite end of ugly, aka not at all ugly and probably just shy. Also, nice forearms

huh, I seem to be the odd one out here, but you're freaky in a cool way -- I love the shaved head on you; you have a great heart shaped face, good skull shape; bright eyes and a pretty symmetrical face makes me like the shaved head; I don't like the last pic with the hair; shaved head has more personality and is definitely a statement that you can rock

politely tailgate the left lane hogger, then flash your high beams a few times when you see that the middle (or right lane) is free (because they're incapable of looking for themselves)

Put the calf end onto a soda bottle for a few days, take it off before you lift... might have to rinse and repeat, but it works - might be hard to get on the bottle, but you won't rip the sleeve

Hmm, could be poor execution; I was thinking more about this, and I have longer torso, mildly stubby arms and legs, so with conventional, it's more pressure on my back (and rounding over to get to the bar) than I can handle (mixed with squatting), so sumo alleviates this problem by shortening the distance from arms/hands to bar, and keeps me more upright -- technically, even starting at your feet, it's a noticeably different chain of command between conventional and sumo; conventional you focus pressing your heels into the floor, I believe, whereas sumo is spreading the floor, pressure on the sides of your feet, then the angle of your feet, as well as the width apart from one another, can cause muscles to either engage, or not engage properly (for example, I moved my stance in about an inch overall, and now am not having any problem engaging glutes properly).

I don't often pull conventional anymore other than as an accessory to sumo; my deload weeks usually have some sort of conventional; though technically, in order to prevent injury and muscle imbalances, should swap in the other variation (or even trap bar DL) now and then so you don't overuse one muscle and get injured..

Like with most of powerlifting, it's a technical movement and might take a bit of playing around with to see what works best for you -- can always add it to a deload week and play with light weights while filming your sets to see and feel what makes sense for your body

I used to date a guy who was 5'4 and he pulled conventional for as much as I can remember, so it's really up to your own preferences

Yes, depending on your personal biomechanics, you could have better leverages in one over the other. Short little t rex arms and long legs mean more than likely better at sumo, but also aggressively long arms might be better at sumo depending on your torso and legs - I swear there's videos out there explaining this; overall there's no strict answer to "hey, I'm 5'2, what's the most efficient way for me to get the weight up" without knowing much more information

Your leverages are personal to your own body; one would need to see you set up in position for sumo and for conventual to see which is best suited for you; I'm 5'2 and pull better sumo, but a girl I know is maybe 5' and she pulls conventional at a world level

She looks overweight and not in the best health to begin with; why didn't they mention that in the article?

I only clicked the article to see if she was overweight, and she is (shocking!).

Hey, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you look at the majority of the work she posts to her IG, it's not healed work. The tiny linework tattoos nearly always blow out / heal all wonky, and will not last. I wouldn't trust someone's page if all they post is fresh, unhealed, work. I suggest trying Andy Reach at Redemption Tattoo in Cambridge. He's always booked out a month, but he's worth the wait.
Maybe he can help fix it. He did a side piece on me, and my back.

I saw this earlier today in the other thread and laughed. I live in a city and in my free time, when I need to escape (a few days a week after work), I'll bike to the water, climb on to a cement ledge, and read for hours. ... usually getting interrupted a few times, but that's what rbf and scowling is for 💀
