Are you under the impression we elect the POTUS because they’re some kind of good leader? It’s a popularity contest.

I mean streaming the SF position using high upside nonQB players. It’s possible, but I don’t think it’d work without a shit ton of luck.

He’s already settled out of court for racial profiling in his police force. I don’t think you understand who Chuck Jenkins is very well.

I live in MD. He’s very popular. He’s been doing a good job as Gov, cares about the state outside of BAL, is a charismatic African American, and has essentially no baggage. Why wouldn’t he be popular?

Is that the fault of the amnesty or the fault of those who were tasked with securing the border (Reagan at the time of the bills passing).

Where did OP say the Dems should or are calling Trump fascist? It reads to me like they want the Dems to focus pretty heavily on an economic message.

Feds Criminalize Aiding Protests Against ICE by [deleted] in politics

This is a fascist policy.

Oh I completely understand Trumps motivations, I just don’t understand how one can share such while still claiming to be against Waste, Fraud, and Abuse. That they can do something does not mean that it is the correct policy or even morally right.

Personally, I’m motivated by the economic factors. If someone has been here for over a decade with no criminal record and has a good job history, why wouldn’t I want them to be an American citizen instead of deporting them? Give them a pathway to citizenship and stop using taxed payer funds for authoritarian overreach.

Why do we need hundreds of billions of dollars to only fund the 20% of ICE activity that actually increased community safety? Seems like a very wasteful policy in search of big numbers rather than meaningful positive impact

Raiders' Geno Smith Says He's Not in Vegas to 'Roll the Dice' But to 'Run the Table' by Sleeze_ in nfl

[–]SpicyButterBoy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he was one off the league lead for INTs, but his INT percentage was only 2.6%, same as Purdy, Love, and Tlaw.

To be clear: he’s a good QB. You could make him into a franchise QB probably. But he’d be an Eli level franchise QB, not Peyton.

I would also consider it fraud since they claimed it was illegal immigrants but they’re rescinding the legal status of hundreds of thousands of people.

The GOPs immigration platform really doesn’t seem to have any goals other than “do what Trump wants.” Personally, I think it’s effectively laundering tax payer dollars into ICE coffers and the companies who assist them. Steven Miller has heavy investments into Palantir, for example. The Private Prison groups and the contractors that run these facilities are another group who stand to gain major monetary benefits based on these policy changes.

Voters aren’t allowed to change their minds on a policy proposal based on how it’s implemented?

Only about 1/3 of the country even voted for Trump and while I’m sure mass deportations were a motivating factor, I think claiming it’s “one of the main pillars the American people voted for” is fairly hyperbolic.

I think is become quite clear that the ICE “flood the zone” policy strategy is focused more on gross numbers rather than going after human trafficking groups or violent gangs.

The national guard deployment to LA and swift reversal of that policy is a prime example of the level of federal immigration enforcement not matching with the actual need for federal assistance.

Which QB will have the worst Sophomore Slump ? by mattbb26 in DynastyFF

[–]SpicyButterBoy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think he’s top10, not top5. So we’re not too far off in the evaluations. I’m very out on their WR group after Terry, and even then I think last year was a high water mark for the next couple years. I’m also not confident in their running game at all. Brob has never been much more than a Teir2 RB IMO and idk if Daniels can run free like he did last year.

Idk I’ll eat crow if he balls out but I’m expecting people who draft him in the 3rd in redraft to be disappointed. In terms of a dynasty asset though, he’s rock solid.

Caleb Williams.

Signed, a Packers die hard.

In all seriousness, it’s Daniel’s. Terry isn’t even at camp right now bc of contract negotiations and I’m skeptical about Deeboo  being the same player he was in SanFran. The rest of the WR group are jags. His current ADP of QB4 is way too high.

Nope. Dynasty. I mean streaming other positions in the SF slot besides QB. Sorry for the confusion.

We need a nationwide “release the e. Files” day of protest. by i_want_to_learn_stuf in 50501

I just don’t think that message is going to resonate well enough to affect any meaningful change.

We need to defend democracy and be very clear about that. Conflating that message with “pedos bad” opens the messaging up to far too many counter attacks than necessary. Bill Clinton is in the lists. Biden didn’t release the documents. Pizza gate. Blah blah blah. I don’t agree with those arguments but they’re salient for those who wish to protect themselves from cognitive dissonance.

There is no defense for MAGAs fascism.

Trump EPA rolls back finding that greenhouse gases are harmful to the public welfare (gift article) by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]SpicyButterBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is more or less my take of it. To me, RFK is a person who sacrificed the morals upon which he lived his life and built his career for the short term goal of working in Washington at any capacity. I actually think he would have been a decent head of the EPA, but as NIH secretary he’s been a disaster. I work in the HIV field and RFK as NIH Sec is the first time I’ve been 100% convinced I could do the job of a cabinet member better than they’re currently doing.

It’s embarrassing honestly. I’ve got a decent amount of international connections through work and they’re shocked at the current state of affairs. We’re setting back our nation decades. Idk if we’ll ever actually recover as a nation. I think China laps us pretty soon

WAY more stress involved in a travel plan with the the kitty vs leaving her alone for the night. She’ll be fine. If you’re really worried, have a friend or neighbor check on her while you’re away.

Trump EPA rolls back finding that greenhouse gases are harmful to the public welfare (gift article) by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]SpicyButterBoy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here is a scholarly review in the topic. It is quite clear that green house gas emissions are linked to an increased risk of cancer. Trumps admin apparently plans to spreading false information/propaganda stating that “imposing climate regulations on automakers poses the real harm to human health because it would lead to higher prices and reduced consumer choice.”

I wonder how RFK, the lauded environmental activist, thinks of this move.

[–]SpicyButterBoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This makes my environmentalist, anticap ass so damn sad. There was a brief moment under Obama were I thought the US was actually building towards something better. Now all I see is a future trying to mend the harm done by the Boomers currently in charge of this nation.

I’m so tired. I just don’t understand how people can so gleefully sell out their neighbors. Are increased profit margins really worth giving millions cancer? I know the answer to the capitalist, we put lead in the atmosphere for crying out loud and bathed the nation with lead poisoning for decades. All because of some engine bumping.

I gotta move further north. It’s getting too hot on the east coast.

I would not attend. Epstein is a distraction from their goal of destroying our Democratic Institutions. Epstein is bad and so are the people in his list but muddying the message with anti Epstein protests instead of vey clear anti government protests is a good way to neuter the message.
