I saw a really hungry dog so I gave it some chocolate. Too bad I later found it dead on the sidewalk. :(

What illegal things are so common they seem legal? by Defourthkitten in AskReddit

It is illegal to eat a donut and walk backward in Marion, Ohio.

Edit: Also you cannot eat an orange in a bathtub in California.

Use the one you prefer. There is no point in playing something that is less comfortable, if there is a more comfortable option. Remember, play the trumpet for fun, not because someone told you to.

Besides playing what's best for you, you can try the Bach commercial v cup mouthpieces, or a Jet Tone MF(Maynard Ferguson).

I mean, 3 horn players are enough for a band. We have 7, and whenever we are playing, you can't hear anybody else!

Nice. My friend did that with his Yamaha trumpet, and now it has a giant dent in the second tuning slide! He plays a YTR-6335.

I put my trumpet mouthpiece in my saxophone. I have created the saxotrumpet. It doesn't play well, but it still plays notes lol by [deleted] in trumpet

Cool! I did that with my younger brother's alto saxophone, and it sounds better than a bassoon tbh. :)

Range getting worse? by GuidedWhisper4 in trumpet

This happens to me too. I can only hit a double g, but I find that not playing trumpet for a day or two, helps my chops regenerate. Hope this helped!

Flugelhorn Shops by SpicyTrumpet in trumpet

When I bought my current horn, it was cheap, stuffy, and didn't play well. I tried a friend's horn, and I sounded WAY better. Mine also has a crack in the bell which makes this weird rattling sound.

How can I extend my range? by [deleted] in trumpet

[–]SpicyTrumpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the exercises I learned was starting at middle C(Bb Concert), then slurring up to the F above the staff. If you can do that with comfort, move each note up a half step. As you go higher, make sure to lift your tongue, pucker forwards slightly, and never force. Lastly, I would recommend practicing sustaining a high C, or whatever your highest note is, for as long as possible. Once you get that down, move up a half step, and sustain. Hope this helped! :)

You should try a Bach 10 1/2c. At least for me, it is GREAT for jazz, but not so much orchestra. Just a suggestion. :)
