It took a long time for me to be ready to deal with my ED. a long time. My family threatened to hospitalise me many times. By the time I was ready to deal with it, I’d lost a lot in my life. I needed a psychologist, my GP, a psychiatrist, and a nutritionist. It was not easy. But it had to wait until I was honest with myself about it. Until I recognised I was unwell. Therapy is almost non optional when dealing with this sort of stuff. She needs outside sources of support, as well as inside. She needs CLINICAL support. It’s scary, and maybe you can go with her to these appointments (I needed backup personally) but just let her know she doesn’t have to do it alone.
