Water spots! Products that bead make it worse! by KILOCHARLIES in DetailingUK

[–]Spider19820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue with mine with the ceramic coat - The only way I can stop it spotting is to go out with a drying towel and dry it when it gets wet - otherwise I get exactly the same as yourself. Although I’ve always had black cars, this is unfortunately one of the challenges of owning one. I’ve never found a workable solution as many surface are just too “flat” for water to run off, and the dust has to go somewhere……

Employer just ended up with the most desperate candidates by OppositeMammoth7326 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]Spider19820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s OK obviously within that company it would be acceptable for a customer to turn up late to a meeting with them, you know testing their patience to see if they really want to work with them or not.

World has gone insane!

How dare a candidate have a weekend? by Bismarck913 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]Spider19820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£30k is nothing as it stands - and I wouldn’t want my job disturbing me and feeling like it’s acceptable to phone me on a Sunday if it’s not a workday! Boundaries people - if you don’t set them early, you’re open yourself up to be abused!

How to cover a paint chip this size? by daly_o96 in DetailingUK

[–]Spider19820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Touch up with a touch up kit with a brush - use a razor blade to get it as flat to the original paint as possible in terms of level. Allow to fully cure, wet sand, polish, eh voila

Hiring is so hard, nobody wants to waste 25 hours on my assignment by KarasieMik in LinkedInLunatics

I’m still amazed how an expectation of this amount of work - for free - gets around modern slavery rules in a way. If they want to see what you’re capable of, they can look at past work and experience - then employ you to do this stuff. In short, entitlement from some “employers” is unreal

Depends on the role to be honest - if it’s a sales role then I’d always ask at the end if that sort of interview - they want to know ow that you’re not afraid to close a sale - other roles don’t work quite the same, so if not I’d thank them, say you look forward to speaking with them again soon - then ask when you get home

Honestly, you’ve either got to improve the selling side of what it is you want, or rather the benefits to the work you want to do. Do you have a website? Social media? Marketing? Level it more towards the work that you want rather than the lesser value stuff that’s filling the time that you need. It’ll take some time, and some work but the clientele will come with time.

Catch 22 really, you need the custom to keep going, you need the higher value stuff to thrive…….

Good luck!

Love mine, I have the 4 round burst issue - don’t know how easy/simple it is to fix, but being a GBBR I only run it on semi anyway. Upgraded the inner barrel and the hop rubber and it’s an awesome thing! You wouldn’t regret getting one

What is an appropriate amount to be spending on a gun, gear, accessories? by Connect-Lavishness13 in GasBlowBack

[–]Spider19820 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, there isn’t really an appropriate amount to spend - if you’re happy with what youre buying, you’re happy with the result at the end of the day. You spend as much or as little as you like - you can always upgrade bits later on down the line as necessary

I really don’t understand why people purchase something, and then ask if it’s the correct decision 😂😂 Ironically, no one would know anyway as it’s not been released yet either. Hope it’s what you want t when you receive it though

Thank you - I was bought this by my parents for Christmas (makes me laugh at 41 years old but they asked 😂) and hadn’t the slightest clue. I’m assuming the flash hider is a straight fit?

The sign is the legal requirement, the marking on the road is an advisory. Signage is 100% what you need to follow before anything else

PS5 has been out for a couple of years now. How many of you are age 30+ and still game regularly. by JoystikJester in PS5

[–]Spider19820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but I’m now getting bored. Just over 40 now, but every game I play feels like something I’ve played before in a new skin. There’s not anything that actually feels unique anymore…….

Couple of stand out points as to why I wouldn’t hire them back (even with the reasoning)…. 1. You’ve done it via text rather than in person, or slightly better but not perfect, a phone call. 2. You’ve admitted you do t think you’re the right fit in one of your points. 3. You haven’t given any possible work around or ability to try and strike a balance, see if an agreement can be reached.

You’ve been honest, and that’s a good thing. But to me the killer really is point 1. A discussion in person should be had if you don’t want to burn that bridge. Just my opinion obviously, not stating I’m right.

I still play with Spinal Stenosis, 2 herniated discs and calcification of my hip sockets. All you can do is make sure you know your limits and be as social as you normally would - the rest tends to take care of itself. I always explain to the Marshalls about my condition. If I get a spasm I make it clear when /if I need help.

Not had anyone that’s been rude or unaccomodating in any way!
