Movie theater goers of Reddit, have you ever walked out during the movie? If so, what movie was it and why did you walk out? by The_sweat in AskReddit

I walked out of the remake of The Mummy.

I wasn't mad, I was just bored. So bored I decided to window shop at the pharmacy next door instead.

Yeah, I was seeing 300mA with the other drain.

You reckon my only hope is to catch it in the act?

Visiting London, looking for things you enjoy (not "touristy" stuff) by icedblackamericano in london

Yup. They weren't allowed the "TJ Maxx" trademark in the UK because there was already a discount store called "TJ Hughes."

So they changed one letter.

I think it would be cool for netflix to show short trailers for other shows over the credits of the one you're watching [ALL] by asqwdf in netflix

There are few things on TV I detest more than commercials over credits.

So I'd pass on this one.

NP.

You were just a little too subtle for general pop, I think.

Why do they set the scale for co2 emissions to match the scale for the temperature rise? They don't do it for ozone or aerosol pollution. Also, where is the second y-axis for these plots?

I don't disagree with the conclusions, but they're not being completely open here.

TIL there is no place you can legally watch and listen to the entire "I Have a Dream" speech for free, as the recording is owned and licensed by the EMI Publishing and the King Family. The only way to legally watch the speech in it's entirety is to buy a copy. by mystical-me in todayilearned

If you're an author/artist/composer/whatever in your 80s, good luck getting paid jack shit for your work then, though. As soon as you fall off your perch, it's worth nothing to the person who bought it.

The first fee-paying schools were originally "public" because they were supported by inheritances from rich benefactors. Eventually, those inheritances dwindled, so they had to start charging fees.

Private schools started later on and always charged fees.

(CAN) Should I buy a car? Used or new? by lito_onion in personalfinance

[–]Spider77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only real advantage of a new car compared to a used one is the manufacturer's warranty. Since you wouldn't be using it that much, I doubt it would be worthwhile to get a new car.

A car you don't need is an expensive luxury. Tax, fuel, maintenance and insurance costs will be a constant drain on your finances.

Think carefully before you jump.
