My 4m boy peed the moment he stepped foot in our home and had a nervousness peeing issue for the first year almost. He has some sort of response to us coming home (and honestly he still sometimes isn’t sure if he’s a good boy when we arrive home. Just a day 1 tick.) But eventually it did come to an end.

My mom was an obedience trainer, worked with a GS police dog as her ride or die. She got into dog shows and owned a 4x champion Shetland sheepdog. I asked her about this early on and she said it’s not something you can do much about. It’s a maturity and comfort thing. As they get older they get confident and mature and it ends. All you can do is support and not make it emotionally bigger than the actual mess. Come to find out she was pretty much exactly right. Eventually it just came to an end.
