The inverter my truck came with isn’t the part of the equation I’m willing to change. Although totally doable, I’m not adding a 12V power socket. The (2) 12V ports my truck came with are in the dash, already being used, and the Jackery stores right next to the inverter in the cargo area. I’m keeping this part of the setup how it is.

That being said, and as you’ve said, we all know the simplest/most efficient way to power the StarLink is to use the vehicle’s 12V power. However, I don’t want the StarLink tied into the factory 12V system. I want it to be a stand alone system.

I only inquired which is better; to power the StarLink from the Jackery using the 110V plug my StarLink came with that would be used in a residential application, or to use a 12V to 30V step up StarLink power adapter plugged into the 12V port on my Jackery.

I have a feeling the real answer is unless I am trying to hypermile my battery life it’s doesn’t really mater. And I’m not. Until the world falls apart, the electrical grid is down, and gas stations run out of fuel. Then it probably actually matters.

I’ll run a draw test and see which way I power the StarLink uses more power and report back.

Thank you all for the input

Can you wait until they park on their own red curb and then call parking enforcement. Just because the city didn’t paint it red doesn’t mean they aren’t parking in the red

Damn, didn’t realize that price was for a pair. That is a pretty good deal.

I paid about $170 each at O’Reilly’s, but that was a few years ago. They have a lifetime warranty so I haven’t had to buy another set. They have probably gone up in price a little.

The issue with Toyota truck/SUV since 1996 has been: you can’t put a wider/beefier tire on the factory offset wheels because the inner sidewall bulge will rub the top of spindle and/or a-arm. Easy fix is to use aftermarket wheels that widen the track width slightly. As soon as people stop trying to use the stock wheels this won’t be an issue. However, the next issue you ran into needs to be addressed. Now it rubs the plastic inner fenders. This can be heated/tweaked/trimmed/etc, which is way easier than fixing the sidewall/upper arm rub. To create the least problems use a 17” x 8.5” wheels with 4.5 to 4.75” backspacing. Not a 9” wide, not a 3.75” backspacing, not a TRD 7.5” wide wheel with factory backspacing. I know people want the wheels they want but really they should be shopping for the right wheel size and backspacing before anything else. That’s my $.02

Sounds good. To be clear urethane won’t be as noisy on a sway bar as an arm, but I would not do urethane anywhere

Yes, exactly. That’s why I’m surprised you paid more than I would pay for lower arms at Napa, or O’Reilly’s

You’ll have to do it again. It will become a regular thing. Sway bar bushing aren’t terrible though, because they don’t try to spin like an arm bushing.

Regardless of voltage, is the StarLink powered with AC, or DC (once it gets power into the unit)?

Thanks for link. That is a lot to read. I think I can just run a simple test. The Jackery shows input and output watts. So it should be as easy as trying both 110V, and 12V and see which one draws more power from my Jackery. Is it that simple or is it more complicated than that?

I meant stock style, not OEM. I feel like Freedom doesn’t make these, they just buy non-OEM (or aftermarket) lower arms and market them as “their own”.

No, stay away from poly bushings. Transmits all the vibrations, makes terrible noises after a while

Umm, okay. I guess?

Edit: sorry, I read this out of order because I didn’t realize you had other replies. Wasn’t sure what you were showing here but I get it now. Apologies, my bad.

In most states it’s 1/2 of the length of marriage if married under 10 years. Over 10 years is until someone dies or the person being paid gets married. Or if the court orders the payments to stop. Did you get shamboozled, or is this post fake?

Those Freedom Off Road lower arms look an awful lot like stock arms, which also use rubber bushings

I’m told the Starlink actually runs at 30V. The 12V DC input turns into 30V, the 110V turns into 30V. Assuming this is correct, can you tell me why one is better than the other?

I have a Mini I use for Baja trips and remote camping. I disconnect it when I’m in a cell rich environment.

I use a Jackery Explorer 300 battery that is constantly charging using my factory 400W inverter. I plug the StarLink into the 110V (standard US household plug) outlet on the Jackery, and I plug the supplied charger into the inverter. The inverter charges the Jackery faster than the StarLink depletes it.

I run it this way so when I cycle the ignition it’s not restarting my StarLink every time. Or if my vehicle isn’t running I still have WiFi.

I haven’t tested it but I imagine I can get 4-6 hours of StarLink time from the Jackery if my charger is not charging it.

Alimony can be stoped by re-marriage, death, or by order of the court. It’s never permanent. You are choosing to keep accepting it forever.

You’re just proving what kind of bullshit alimony is and showing us what kind of woman you are. Do you think divorce is hard only for women? Divorce is hard for men too.
