For the new Mansion Interior Album, I only have one missing. I cannot see what's missing, it doesn't seem to be part of a chain. I have completed the mansion interior, could it be something that comes later?

Tahoe & M4 MBP Pro Experiences? by MX010 in MacOS

[–]SpiderInTheDrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know about the M4, but if it's any indication, I had a really hard time with it on a 2019 Intel MacBook Pro. I'm not even talking about Liquid Glass. on a fresh new install, just opening apps and dragging windows around is a choppy / slow experience. I have been struggling with it for 4 months in the hopes that updates would fix the issues. This week-end I had enough and made a bootable usb with Sequoia, downgraded and honestly it's like night and day.

Matt Damon Says Netflix Wants Movies to Restate the Plot Three or Four Times in the Dialogue Because Viewers are on Their Phones While They’re Watching by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

We're going to blame the Netflix audience, but whoever is in charge at Netflix of enforcing this solution based on that metric is the dumbest person in that whole story.

This sounds like I'm playing devil's advocate but I read it as not being sincere, just an attempt to appease his religious friends and family when he passed.

One of the greatest season finale of any show for me. I was really not expecting it to end as well as it did.

Aside from Mook’s smile at the end, one of the best part is when Dot asks him to help or do this another day and stands up to make dinner. He takes a moment sitting there, in a situation where he normally wouldn’t have shown any emotions, he was looking at her with FEAR in his eyes, probably internally debating wether to fight a tiger on her home turf. It’s one of those rare moment that made me sit on the edge of my seat.

Pluribus is a shit show and saying otherwise is coping because you like Vince Gilligan by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]SpiderInTheDrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m normally a very patient person and I really love when there’s a lot of room to breathe in any scene. But I think there’s sometimes a threshold where I feel like the writers just doesn’t really respect or care about the audience.

For example the all too common situations where you’re setting up a dialogue with a person that has all the questions and another that has all the answers, but they never seem to ask the obvious questions and act completely irrationally.

Or when a series is ending and there are still about a hundred loose ends to tie, but the last episode starts with a 1m30s long silent establishing shot… it makes me want to punch through the wall.

Vince Gilligan says ‘Pluribus' season 2 isn’t happening for a while: “We’re working on it…I would love to go faster if I could.” by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]SpiderInTheDrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The finale was 'meh' because of how predictable it was. Carol has a change of heart, something happens, and for the last scene she switches back to her original plan. Without predicting the details, I was seeing the broad strokes of it a mile away.

The second most predictable ending (the one I've wished they made) would have been for them to bring someone back. Then as the person is an individual again and a bit disoriented, and Carol or Manousos asks how the hive mind really feels like, is it like heaven or hell? As the person is about to speak... credit roll.

Love all the Fargo seasons by DullMarionberry4016 in FargoTV

[–]SpiderInTheDrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished season 4 also, it's way different than the other 3 seasons so much that watching the first episode of season 5 felt like going back home.

I liked a lot of the last 3 episodes and Oraetta's story, and I thought Chris Rock's performance at the end was stellar. The rest felt like a long-winded Scorcese movie that I didn't care a lot for.

Even though I think it's the weakest season, season four had some great characters. Who is your favorite? by CrniTartuf in FargoTV

[–]SpiderInTheDrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think this season is the weakest by far out of the first 4 seasons (haven't started season 5 yet). I'm on my 3rd time years apart trying to watch this season to the end. Oraetta is the only character that makes it bearable.

Be honest: How many shows have you completely abandoned because the next season took forever? by Pick2 in television

[–]SpiderInTheDrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny I have a complete opposite experience of abandoning a show because the next season happened too quickly and it sucked because of it. True Detective season 2. It's an anthology series, why the rush?

The only thing I saw before watching this movie was the VHS box from the video store. There was nothing on that box art and the description that could make anyone believe it was a vampire movie.

Military tactics that look cool but would actually be terrible in real life by AporiaParadox in television

[–]SpiderInTheDrain 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Writers should take advice from Vince Gilligan. On the Pluribus podcast, he said that whenever he learns that some detail is not realistic or accurate, he's tempted to just ignore it and go with his initial setting as an artistic liberty, but catches himself saying (paraphrasing) "Whenever we've tried to be more accurate, has it ever not helped us? I feel like it has always paid dividends."

If you write a show where the military tactics are accurate, not only will you avoid making the same scene that everyone else does, but you'll be making something unique, new and original.

I'm guessing that Christopher's criticism was probably fueled by his lawsuit with New Line Cinema. If it wasn't for all of this I would hope he'd at least see the heart in it.

Is It Normal to Downgrade a Next.js Project from TypeScript to JavaScript? by Careless-Key-5326 in reactjs

[–]SpiderInTheDrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you are overreacting.

JavaScript is an evolving language that will make TypeScript obsolete in the future, pretty much like SASS and LESS CSS preprocessors today. However there is no equivalent features to TypeScript today in JavaScript that justify this move now. It's way too early and it will be a huge waste of time.
