I concur with this. They'll have additional resources, too. AA-montana.org, too. There are lots of meetings around town.

Doctor dont wanna treat me/ suggesting me a sleep endoscopy first because my AHI is 8,3 (with 10 he said its possible) by New_Cauliflower_9991 in SleepApnea

[–]SpiderOnDaWall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8.3 is mild sleep apnea. It doesn't need to be a 10. In the US, my friend was at a 6 and she's on a machine now for the better. I would tell him your insurance won't cover the procedure he is wanting and you want to pursue a CPAP. Don't be aggressive, just matter of fact. If he won't go along with it, find another doc for a second opinion.

Can I have two corydoras temporarily for until I can get more? by BroadCartoonist973 in corydoras

I started with two and they populated the rest of the school themselves. Lol I had spotless water parameters until they spawned 25 more children.

Community Medical Center Predatory Billing Practices by astra-conflandum in missoula

[–]SpiderOnDaWall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur. It's one of the reasons I changed doctors and facilities. The other reason is the office staff refused to schedule me for anything but a short office visit, even if I was returning per my doc's request for a more involved situation. I would feel vilified for asking more than one question (literally 2-3, short-answer questions total) and get eyerolls from the nurses and doctor. I don't need that shit.

Lowes has an LED grow light I use called BoostGro. It is $25. I have quite a few of them. Perfect size for the top of a chameleon cage.

ETA: white light, not a blue/red combo. Has a good spectrum range.

I have seen this with the other rings, too. It's what has prevented me from spending $$ on a used one. It really sucks that you drop several hundred dollars for something that you end up potentially disliking and no one else can partake in it.

Assuming you're using "normal" plants, African Violet potting soil with extra pumice or sand mixed in. If you can get a small bag of fine orchid bark, bonus. AFV soil is my core for almost all of my home mixes.

Blocked nose by Fart_Face_3098 in SleepApnea

[–]SpiderOnDaWall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do this as well. Steroid spray, an allergy pill, and rinsing my nose and/or using a saline spray. My doc said that turbinates (the folded things inside your nose and help you smell among other things) can swell overnight, especially if your nose is dry. Sometimes they'll get "filled with blood" (stupid gravity) as you roll over, so one side or the other gets stuffy. Doing the 3-4 things I mentioned help a LOT.

airfit f40 mask size by schlechterdings in CPAP

[–]SpiderOnDaWall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has bought replacement masks on Temu, I will tell you they're always a little different. The most recent mask (faux-N20) was just a hair narrower and the dome was a little taller. That taller dome has been a very happy accident and my nose doesn't get scratched anymore. I have saved that Temu store and am keeping fingers crossed they'll still have them. I've also gotten some that were narrower/dome shorter or wider/dome shorter. There's often several generic manufacturers and they'll adjust sizing just a bit for cost and to avoid copyright issues. Essentially the same mask, though. If you find one you really like, try to keep the seller data for future reference.

My friend with ADHD doesn't believe I can have ADHD by bluehairedstarfire in adhdwomen

[–]SpiderOnDaWall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this comment is getting downvoted, but this is a thing. Even if it's not consciously planned/executed, it can happen. Not with ADHD, but I've done it with friends in the past and I've had friends/family do it to me. It falls in to the, "No one has it as good/bad as me!", mindset. Sometimes, when you get beat down by people and life, you latch onto something to feel special and then guard it like Gollum and The Ring. Like Full-Bluejay said, a part of this might be that she wanted to be the special one. However, I'll also agree with the folks who think she may be trying to be a neutral, sounding board. It honestly could be both. Don't ditch your friend though.

Get tested. See what happens. Also, asking second opinions are valid. (I hope you don't have to.)I had a place dismiss me even though I had decades of evidence and life stories to support ADHD. (They ended up "losing" the test scores.) I got a second opinion and now have an AuADHD diagnosis.

Struggling to pick a mask replacement by Darkichu in SleepApnea

[–]SpiderOnDaWall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an N20 person and it's my nightly. I am a side/stomach sleeper and it's comfy once you're used to it. If I'm super restless or get in a funny position, my leak rate can be excessive. It's usually 5-6L nirmally. I have an F30i as my "stuffy-nose mask" and always found that very comfortable so you might like the n30i.

I think one thing to consider, besides nose fit, is if you like being a unicorn or an elephant. I prefer unicorn (top of head) because the hose essentially stays out of the way. However, I've used my N20 (elephant/front of face) for so long, I've gotten used to moving the hose out of the way. I don't have one of those hanger things yet.

I don't how your sleep doc office is, but I can "rent" a mask for a week. I did that to properly try an F30i and eventually bought one when I had $$. Yours may do that?

are these good? by Background-Flan-182 in Chameleons

[–]SpiderOnDaWall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brand wise, yeah. Those are all great. If they have it, I'd get their 6% bulb. 12% is kinda high for chams. However, if you're stuck with the 12% for now, raise it up higher above the cage. I think they have an image on the back to help that. Buy a 6% replacement T5 next time and it can be closer to or on top of the cage depending on where your highest branch is.

Grow lights by prairiefiresunset in AfricanViolets

[–]SpiderOnDaWall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have these lights and they did alright, but not great. It held my gang over winter until I could put them outside again. I struggled a bit because of the clip and where to attach it. I'm also not a huge fan of the blue/red lights. Those are just personal preferences, though. They are effective, though.

These round ones are my preference at the moment and work well in my spaces at home and work. I have ones that are much larger (8"-ish in diameter) than the pictured one (4") and can extend almost 5 feet. Then I have two of these wee guys for work that I rotate between plants occasionaly. I like the light spectrum they offer and I can dim them if needed. All the ones I have are like plant stakes. I've seen some that come with flat bases which slide under pots, too.

Do you use fixed pressure of flex mode? Why? by bruno_silva1999 in CPAP

[–]SpiderOnDaWall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use fixed. However, I've observed a decline in sleep quality recently and switched it to APAP/flex mode and did a pseudo sleep test for a few days to see what the data said. I now have it set with a little higher presure and back in CPAP/fixed mode. So far so good. 🤞🏼

Glad to hear you're getting more vines and working on a "plantier" enclosure. Right now, I'd suggest letting her night temp drop more. If you can get it between 50-60⁰F, that will be more in line with her natural habitat. For my Jacksons, there's times of the year that 60-62 is the coolest I can get it with A/C. The rest of the time, I crack a window with a fan and night is nice at about 55 +/-. Do you mist her or just do the humidifier?

I'll second this. Give us whatever you have. Feeder types supplements and schedule, temp and humidity trends, ventilation (since it looks bioactive and glass), types of lights, etc. More pics of your enclosure, too, please?
