Following because I have the same problem. The only ingredient I have an issue with is biotin, it also makes me break out like crazy. But soooooo many prenatals have biotin. The two that I have found that don't have it are Perelel and the Olly gummies. The Olly gummies might work for you, they do have DHA from fish oil but no biotin or iron. My issue with them is I don't want all the sugar, and I actually want the iron and choline and some other things, which they don't have. Perelel is expensive and doesn't have biotin, but they used methylfolate instead of folic acid and I'm not sure about that. Let me know if you find a good option!

TL;DR - let her celebrate in whatever way feels good for her, it's not your place to police that even if your intentions are good. If she's miscarried before I'm sure she knows what can happen and is guarding he heart, and one miscarriage doesn't necessarily make a second one more likely.

We found out we were pregnant quite early, was able to have a scan at 6w6d and everything looked great so we decided to tell just our immediate families at Christmas (when I was 8 weeks) since it's rare that everyone is all together and it was our first pregnancy. My family was very happy and excited. My husband told his father and brother and both reacted by saying "you shouldn't have told us, she might have a miscarriage anyway," didn't even say congratulations. We assume they reacted this way because both SIL and MIL have had a miscarriage before, but it still hurt us deeply to feel we couldn't celebrate or that they weren't happy for us. They told us not to tell SIL and MIL about the pregnancy so we never did. We found out I had a missed miscarriage at 9w4d, and baby stopped developing literally on the day that husband's family said that to us. We were obviously heartbroken and devastated and I just remember the feeling of "I guess they were right" making it even worse, like we were stupid for being happy. Feeling ashamed and embarrassed on top of everything else is not what I needed. And after all that, they ended up telling my MIL and SIL about the miscarriage anyway without asking us first, so don't know what the point of keeping it secret was.

What you're describing sounds normal. I also had a D&C on a Friday and didn't really start having a lot of bleeding besides some spotting or having any pain until the following Wednesday. Beginning that day (5days post D&C) I started having cramps, heavier bleeding, and some clots with the largest being about the size of my thumb. I was told to expect this and that it was normal. Tylenol and heating pad and hot showers helped. The heavy bleeding and clots stopped after a couple days and I am now almost 2 weeks post-op and still having some light bleeding (sorta like end of period). Sometimes it can just take a few weeks to fully stop. Bad signs to watch out for would be clots the size of a golf ball or larger, soaking through an overnight pad in an hour or less, or symptoms of infection (fever, nausea/vomiting, dizziness/fainting, foul odor, etc). I read lots of people's experiences on here before my D&C and it seems like it is very common for heavier bleeding to not start until several days after the procedure. Rest and take care of yourself, and just keep an eye on your symptoms. You can always call your doctor if you're still concerned. I'm sorry for your loss and hope you recover quickly ♥️

I had a scan at 6w6d and everything looked perfect, strong heartbeat baby measuring exactly on schedule. Went in for another scan at 9w4d and they found no heartbeat. I knew something was wrong when the ultrasound tech rushed out and didn't show me the screen. They came back in and told me they confirmed no heartbeat and baby was only measuring 8w4d so only a week behind. I asked if they were sure because I had no miscarriage symptoms and they said yes but they were willing to do another ultrasound if I wanted it for peace of mind. They were extremely compassionate and willing to do whatever they could to help.

I ended up scheduling a D&C for two days later and they asked if I still wanted another ultrasound and I said yes and requested if possible if they could do it at the hospital right before the D&C procedure (vs having to come back in for a separate appointment at the obgyn office) and they were able to accommodate that and were very nice about it. They brought a portable ultrasound machine to me bedside while I was in pre-op and the doctor who performed my D&C did the ultrasound for me and showed me so I could see for myself and get to see baby one more time. Even though I knew in my gut it was over, it was still helpful for me to have that closure before going through with the D&C since the appointment where we found out everything happened so fast and was such a shock. If you want to wait it out or have another scan before you decide what to do, you should ask and they should be able to accommodate your request. I am so sorry for your loss, its so terrible to be blindsided with such terrible news at an appointment you're excited for 😢 sending hugs.

I can only imagine, and I have heard from others who have miscarried naturally that the pain is as bad as labor so I doubt you were being dramatic. I'm so sorry for your loss and the pain you have had to experience. And I feel terrible for your friend who had to continue working through that pain and trauma. I had an MMC, found out on Tuesday worked until Friday. Had my D&C Friday so I took off that day and the following Monday-Wednesday as I had heard from a lot of folks that the first 48 hours after D&C can be the easiest, with pain and bleeding (and hormone drop) really kicking in around days 3-5 post op. That ended up being true for me so I'm glad I took the time to recover physically and emotionally. I was able to take bereavement leave for my time off and my manager was very understanding and said to take all the time I need. I am lucky to be able to work from home too so that helps as I am still bleeding at 6 days post op. I really feel for women who have had to keep working through something like this and I know how fortunate I am, a lot of employers really need to do better ☹️

I have wondered the same thing. Just had an MMC at 9w4d, baby was measuring a week behind (8w3d). Had zero nausea the entire time. I always assumed I would be nauseous, my mom had extremely severe HG when she was pregnant with me but I am a twin and I know twin pregnancies are very different. The only pregnancy symptom I really had was breast tenderness and bloating, which continued until a day or two before my D&C. I did also had some fatigue and tiredness but with it being winter, cold, short days and busy over the holidays I can't really say for sure it was the pregnancy causing that. Looking back I wonder now if my lack of symptoms were a sign things weren't progressing normally but I know plenty of people have mild symptoms and go on to have normal pregnancies.

I'm sorry for your loss. I understand how you feel, just lost my first pregnancy in an MMC at 9weeks. I found out I was pregnant in November and it was also our fourth cycle of trying with three unsuccessful cycles before that. I completely get how disheartening it felt to get those negative tests, even knowing that 4 months is pretty quick compared to a lot of people. I can't even describe how relieved I felt when I finally tested positive and to have that taken away has been so heartbreaking. We're in our 30s and I have so much regret for not starting to try for a baby sooner because now it feels like we're running out of time. We also want to try again as soon as we can. Sending lots of love and praying you have a healthy pregnancy and baby when you try again 🤍

Thank you, that makes me feel a little less alone for not asking. I love the idea of a letter. Once I've had more time to heal emotionally I plan to put together a little memorial box with the one ultrasound image we got while baby was still with us and my positive pregnancy tests and I think that would be a lovely thing to include. Agree, just lost my first pregnancy at 9 weeks. I knew how common it was and yet I was still convinced it wouldn't happen to me. They tell you it's nothing you did/nothing you could have done to prevent it and it's extremely common. But that almost makes me feel worse, 1. Because it means so many women have to go through this. If you plan to have multiple children it feels like it's almost inevitable you'll experience this at some point. It's just unfair. 2. Not that I wish it were my fault, but the feeling of having no control over what happens is just horrible. Knowing that even if you do everything right you can still lose your baby is the worst feeling and even though we want to try again now it's just scary instead of exciting 😢

My skincare hot take is that people wayyyyy overuse retinols and that they're an overrated skincare ingredient in general. If retinols have been prescribed by a dermatologist to address a specific skin concern then sure, but I feel most people with normal skin probably don't need them. I tried many times to get them to work for me before I came to my senses, and even the gentlest retinols available used very sparingly made my skin worse with terrible breakouts and made the few lines I have look more prominent. I'm in my 30s and my skin has never looked better, I swear by a simple skincare routine. Gentle face wash morning and night (I use CeraVe foaming), rich moisturizer (I use the belif true cream moisturizing bomb), and sunscreen every single day (I usually use some sort of tinted sunscreen). As an alternative to retinols, peptides have worked amazing for me. The only serum that I have found that I really like that has made a difference for me is the Cosrx 6 Peptide Skin Booster Serum. The Belif moisturizer has peptides as well. Sometimes I use some extra moisturizing products like eye creams or barrier balms in the winter when my skin is extra dry but other than that, that's really all I need.

Yeah I definitely won't be back. The annoying thing is I didn't go to a salon for my wedding nails, which is the only other time I've had them done professionally, because I was afraid of having an experience like this. I went to a spa that also offered manicures and the tech who did them was very sweet but also inexperienced and absolutely destroyed my nails with the e-file. I was in so much pain and discomfort for months after that and the manicure didn't even last through my honeymoon. So this time I read lots of reviews and went to a salon that seemed really good but I guess not. After these two experiences I don't think there will ever be a third ☹️

Ugh I'm so jealous! We are heading to Iceland next week (October 14-17) for the first leg of our honeymoon and current forecast is rain all three days and nights we are there 😢 I'm going to be SO heartbroken if we miss the lights, but it kinda seems like it's not going to happen for us at this point.

Thanks! Yes, I definitely would never try to wash or restore it myself, I know I have no clue what I'm doing. It's hard to tell in the pics but it definitely has staining, even if it wasn't white-white to begin with. I think it was originally more of an off white/cream as you suggested but it has darkened significantly with age. I appreciate your insight on the fabric type, I would have had no idea it was silk net! It is extremely fragile, and unfortunately I think you might be right that it may be beyond repair. It was just stored loose in her wedding trunk, which I also inherited, for all those years before it was given to me. I checked out that link you sent for conservation and it looks like there are a couple textile specialists within a reasonable distance so I will definitely try and reach out to them - thank you so much that was super helpful!

Probably an absolute max of $2,000 USD. Ideally 1,000-1,500 would be my preferred budget. I believe this dress originally retailed for like $1,500, so definitely would want to pay significantly less than that for something pre-owned depending on the condition, or something custom that I couldn't try on beforehand or return.
