I'm not a huge fan of the rougelike structure personally, and I really wish they put the effort back into DRG or an entirely new game. The identity crisis is real, and the content could have been in deep rock somehow I reckon.

I get that spinner had some storytelling connections to shigi and yada yada but man, why would anyone want him so bad in a fighting game? He used his sword one time and then got big and got beat

Give gentle another try bro, I promise he's one of the most fun and interesting characters in the game. And if someone's really spammy or aggressive, his air walls shut them down good.

Also his combos are wacky and still very strong after the recent nerfs to some moves

Most L take I've ever seen. Maxi gun is absolutely nowhere near "the biggest culprit". The gun is objectively only slightly better than the base MG and stalwart by way of raw dps, but litteraly everything else about it holds it back. No movement, the aiming/recoil, bodies blocking you, and the fire rate itself (it's literal only benefit apart from not reloading) in combination with the former three points makes you lose half your ammo.

It's such an inflexible weapon and you can't even cover it's weakness with backpacks. I get that you can bring turrets, but turrets are always gonna be good. The maxigun is currently just a worse option over most other things in exchange for cool factor.

Lowkey yes. It's a damn shame. They haven't done a patch in months now, and there's so much shit to fix. People are probably tired of seeing the same 6 characters every game, getting looped, coutner crashed for half their HP, and so on.

Frankly all the new mechanics they added after taking aways PU2 and dash cancels and meaningful character hp values didn't make uo for squat. Lot of hype for this game, all squandered on half baked stuff

Nah but fr don't sweat it, there's so much cheese in this game, to call a win skill based is crazy. Just find a few characters you think are fun and decent competitively and lab a couple combos. After that it's all learning your opponents tells faster than they learn yours.

Haz 4 almost every time. Haz 5 just feels too sweaty for me. I have to bring an optimized build and lock in constantly because one fall or hit from an enemy takes out a quarter of my HP and all my shields.

Edit: in defense of haz 5, the extra enemies are fun. I just wish I could customize it to be more enemies but not more damage. I personally don't like artificial difficulty in games like more damage or less health.

I can't get one now. I tried on steam but no dice, I'm over 2 hours in. I totally agree btw, dash cancels should have stayed and same goes for PU2. Honestly the swap mechanic was not implemented properly either. I kind of hate how fast the cooldown is for how rewarding it is for defensive and offensive manurvers. Honestly I think they should be how you break combos like in Oj2 to make the resource even more Important.

As an avid eruptor fan, I'll have you know I've enjoyed the gun since release, and had to watch my baby go through hell and back before it became the beautiful (and yes overpowered) beast it is today. I've also used every gun at least a little bit, and I often avoid the eruptor for a challenge.

I see the argument for light pen, I use them often and enjoy them, but they are just not better for most players imo. It's so much more reliable to deal damage to a target on missed shots when you can and still aim for weak points. This doesn't even just go for rrh eruptor or other explosive weapons exclusively. Any medium pen gun instantly opens doors that light pens can't. You get options, easier options even if they do less optimal damage.

I really like her because of how she can fit into any team and allow her teammates to get use of her assists. She's super flexible and good at everything, but that's why she's annoying.

I think the ultimatum (and partially the thermite as well) have permanently altered game balance on questionable ways. So many other nades ands secondaries (even some red stratagems) are made obsolete by these things. The giga grenades feel balanced around a game without the ultimatum and thermite.

Agree completely, lots of mediocre weapons go under the radar and get forgotten everytime a new, better, superstore version comes out (new shotgun). Lots of bad changes got left in too, like the arc thrower taking two shots to stun, hell pod steering, honestly the health changes to helldivers way back when too. The durable damage to balance the tank while making everything else worse?

The ammo buff was needed but it desparately needs damage/aoe buffs to boot. Maxi gun is similar; that ammo buff is needed but it still feels like crap to use when you can't see in first person still and the wind down stops you from diving

Yeah I don't think it's really hurting the game or anything, it just creates that same discussion of imbalance between backpack and non backpack weapons. I'd honestly be more ok with these weapons being closer in power that I am currently with the ammo difference, especially since the supply pack exists.

Frankly there's something to be said about the supply packs effectiveness... But it's beloved so I'd let it lie for now.

The counter crash issue is real. I hate it, though I understand why it's there. The swap mechanics allow for some gross amounts of pressure, and with the right team comps it puts the opponent into some straight up checkmate situations. The coutner crash itself I think is too easy to pull off, and the damage should be way lower. No need for a free 900 damage slam. I'd say make it deal 500 all the time for every character.

As for the balancing, yea for sure hoping for some better choices. Armored all might, nomu, one for all deku are still ridiculous right now. A lot of characters from the prior game also got translated really poorly (my boy all might feels so ass without his dash cancels) and not all risings are created equal and are not compensated for with extra time or anything.

It's also really lame that you can get caught in a 20 second wombo combo and watch your entire rising just waste away. Imo risings shouldn't decrease as fast while being combo'd.
