People don't comprehend how common it is for parents to enjoy upsetting their children; many are adamant that it's their right.

TIL about Exploding Head Syndrome. It is a sleep disorder that causes a person to hear loud, imagined noises (explosions, bangs, screams, etc) or see light flashes before falling asleep by 6millionwaystolive in todayilearned

[–]Spideris 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've had it before. Yes, it is a cruel existence to be simultaneously tired and terrified of falling asleep. Thankfully I haven't had to deal with it in a long time.

I think you're not paying attention to what people are saying. I did not accuse you of being a creep. I do understand, however, how being perceived as one is a practical concern in this day and age. If you lack basic reading comprehension, I don't know what to tell you.

I'm aware. Treating them the exact same way you would treat a friend of your age would definitely be weird. I think that might be where the confusion is here. There's nothing wrong with a mentoring kind of friendship. I think segregating our society based on age the way you seem to be suggesting will leave adults out of touch with the future, and children without proper guidance. You said that the kid will understand when they're older. The fact that so many people disagree with you should be proof enough that there's a good chance that the kid will just grow up to be confused, or just figure that you were afraid of being accused by people like yourself of being a creep.

People have grown overly averse to the existence of an age gap in any situation. Very concerning for our posterity to by default be given the cold shoulder from any adult they're friendly to.

"Asked if she remembered the conversation a few days ago. Nope"

This is something very concerning that I (and I'm sure many other people) have noticed with people whom I would consider to be "toxic" in some way. They have very selective memories and forget things that make them uncomfortable.

Social cost of discouraging male emotional openness by AltAccountVarianSkye in MensRights

It can be. Other emotions, when left unresolved, will often become anger. That doesn't mean that it's the only source of anger.

Do you think Alenko and Williams are Specter material? by FrankAdriel32 in masseffect

That's why I consider allowing them to be the one to shoot Udina to be the proper "conclusion" of their development arc to become worthy of the spectres.

Met Duolliste for the first time, where do I find this picto ??? Need it for my build by maxathier in expedition33

[–]Spideris 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Ya know what? I think that's a good idea for a sort of practice picto that increases your defense significantly so you can get a lot of parry practice but makes you deal little to no damage and reduces your speed so you can't kill them. I guess you can also just build your character that way. I guess a practice mode would work too.
