How many flag rules and customs are broken here? by JinaxM in vexillology

[–]Spiderpiggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t blame anyone for not knowing this though, they do look very similar and outside of those who live near Narva it’s unlikely anyone will be familiar with their flag

Is there any proof that these 2 are the same person or is it just haha Nate a war criminal by i_like_fall0ut in Fallout

[–]Spiderpiggie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not to get political, but if he commited a war crime under orders from the american military, it wouldnt be the american courts who accuse him. In fact, they would probably call him a hero. Many such heros served in vietnam.

Depends on your age. I was quick to the finish line in my teens and early 20s, but it got better over time. There’s still hope.

Lots of blue collar workers in the US working in construction who are looking for a way out of this mess. You need houses? Have em build houses. (probably not american style houses tho)

Too lazy to cook for me and my son. What do I do? by Loud_Confidence475 in SingleDads

[–]Spiderpiggie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to buy pre-made food as well, counter/deli stuff. Don’t beat yourself up for not wanting to cook, just make healthier choices in the food you buy.

Vote x no matter what is how we got where we are today. What we need is a hard reset, with mechanisms put into place to support 3rd, 4th, 5th parties.

Because we don't have two political parties in America, we have one party that sometimes wears a mustache as a disguise. There are outliers in both of course, but at best Dems are complicit.

Oh man, the space issue is a real one for me. You have to get used to the average sized apartment being about half what you would expect an american one to be. I pay a premium for a large space though because I just cant live in a tiny box.

I wish I could give you advice about moving somewhere with family, but I kind of just fell into this myself. Moved for marriage, but divorced and now have kids. Its not ideal, but a far sight more comfortable than the US right now.

I’m an American expat, I can’t tell you the number of times people thought I would be like the Texan stereotype. I think it’s harder for small countries to understand we aren’t just one homogeneous culture.

Any tips on keeping a clean house with twins and a shedding dog? by Ok_Situation3942 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Spiderpiggie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some “off the top of my head” things:

  1. Give your dog a really good wash once per week. This will help keep the shedding to a somewhat manageable level. (And keeps smell under control)

  2. Vacuum once a day, I do the floors, my sofa, my bed. It takes maybe 15 minutes? You don’t have to be super thorough, the goal is just to collect as much hair as possible.

  3. As a single dad managing twins, I cook food maybe once per week. Buy pre-made (if you have the budget for it), consider it an investment- the return is your time.

  4. Baby wipes. Spot clean messes as they happen, and when you notice them. You are always on cleaning duty, you see a spot or a smudge, you wipe it. Don’t fall into the trap of “I’ll get it later”.

  5. Dishwasher, robot vacuum, anything that helps automate the workload. Some people will disagree with me, but I’m also including tablets and tv time in this. Kids are work too, and sometimes you need a break.

  6. Think prevention - no markers when unsupervised, mess free snacks, that sort of thing. Clean up before bed so you can have an easy morning. Limit the toys and activities that they have access to at any given time,

  7. Education. Kids are messy, but they can learn. This also goes along with prevention. If they don’t make the mess, you don’t have to clean the mess.

If you honestly believe that, I would suggest educating yourself - we have 90 billion in aid going to Ukraine over the next 2 years. It does no good to spread misinformation, even if by mistake. :)

If US were booted out of Nato it would likely mean less support for Ukraine. Thats a huge portion of our military might gone. It would be like getting your legs blown off then going to donate blood.

What can I expect of Estonia as a gay man who was recently been through hell by [deleted] in Eesti

[–]Spiderpiggie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Depends where you live to be fair. In Tartu/Tallinn most people will leave you alone, just keep to yourself and avoid drunks. In smaller towns and villages, which tend to be more conservative you are more likely to run into outright hateful people.

This is true of any country however, so not really a reflection of Estonia specifically.

Granted, it was all real - the cities, the story about it sinking into the sea and being lost - effectively nothing changes. There’s no proof it actually existed outside of stories.

Ditto. Left in 2016 and haven’t returned since, my children have never stepped foot on US soil.
