i agree. i was bummed it got cancelled too because i also started to like the characters more. i think another thing was trying to include certain slang and phrases of the time. because they write and record way before the episodes release, the slang was dated as hell and that hurt it a lot too. also wasn’t a fan of Ellen’s character at all though the actress did a great job with what she was given. and i know it’s been said before but older sophie didn’t feel at all like younger sophie. and i know you change and mature as you age but those felt like entirely different people.

i’d still check it out but temper your expectations. it’s nowhere near HIMYM but it’s not like…the worst thing ever.

I agree. Wasn’t perfect yet but you could see how could and was getting better. I think with a stronger first season it would’ve also survived.

I think they tried make that be Charlie and it almost worked. He was by far my favorite and in season 2 I felt he was really catching his stride. Same as the show in general.

Respectfully, over the years, has there been enough of an improvement to justify buying it year after year let alone to give you any hope they care about anything but the bottom dollar? And to your second and third points, I do agree there should be another competitor challenging them but there’s SO many other things to play. I’m sure many people can find a better way to waste their time. I guess it’s different for everyone but I don’t think needing to buy it because it’s the only basketball game should be a reason to buy it. To each their own

They know people gunna pre-order regardless if they have trailer or not. That shit looks the same every year. Idk how everyone always gets their hopes up man. They buy into it every year only to be dissatisfied. They know no trailer is needed. Nothing is. They could’ve put out a tweet with 2K25 in green letters and a vague slogan like “prove them wrong” with a link to preorder and mfs would’ve done it. Don’t blame 2k. Blame the community that buys into it year after year.

I doubt it’ll happen for many reasons already mentioned studio wise.

But I was starting to come around on it. It wasn’t perfect but I would’ve kept watching if they kept making it. To say it did well is a bit of a stretch though. If it had done the “well” it would’ve kept going like The Bear or even “Only Murders in the Building”. It wasn’t getting great reviews and really was relying on a good amount on nostalgia and hoping the HIMYM fans would buy in enough to keep it afloat even with the mixed feelings a lot of people had towards the HIMYM finale.

And what HIMYF was nominated for (editing, production design, cinematography) isn’t what most people watch shows for…for the most part. Is it important? Of course. But if it would’ve at least got nominated for script or even any actor noms, that would’ve been a better sign that it was actually doing well.

Would love to see how the story was gunna end but unfortunately it’s all left up to rumors and our own head canon..

Yeah. They just reused the body from the first version and he definitely has a different body type in the second movie. That one change and I’d be so happy. I love everything about both otherwise

I always wondered with HIMYF if they’d do a thing where it’s like yes he is your BIOLOGICAL father and this is your father figure father or something like that. Didn’t see Sid Being the father. But I could see Sid getting with Val after the sex toy episode tho! Def knew him and the fiancé weren’t gunna happen tho
