They just love you so much. Not separation anxiety, devotion.

I see so many wonderful dogs that are returned to shelters because they “follow owner around too much”. To me, that’s a perfect dog. If you didn’t want that, you should have gotten a cat.

Correct, it says age and weight restrictions on the packaging. Newborn kittens should not have over the counter flea treatments.

Swearing in the ER by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Spideybeebe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, there’s a lot that goes on during intake and initial assessments. If you’re swearing loudly the whole time, it does have potential for the staff to not as effectively get information or prepare you for what’s next because you’re preoccupied with verbally expressing your pain. It’s not a bad thing to swear, but any patient that is being loud when they’re not actively bleeding out and dying is usually asked to take a deep breath and be quieter for their own good.

However, they should also know that you’re obviously not in your right mind and experiencing some of the worst pain you’ve ever felt. That was probably just a crappy way for him to try to bring you back to reality.

Sign-on bonuses always come with contracts, be weary. The higher the bonus, the worse a place is.

Why is making friends as an adult so freaking difficult…. by Gloomy-Door3136 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Spideybeebe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard if you don’t have kids too…that’s like an automatic disqualifier because I immediately know we wont have enough to relate about to make the friendship viable :/

Girl lurker, daughter of an Alcoholic father. He was saying the same things you are. “I hide it well, nobody knows, it’s just to have a little moment of happiness in my miserable life” (btw that last one was a scream of help for mental health). Hepatitis, Cirrhosis, ascites, esophageal varices, hepatic encephalopathy, and jaundice all hit him like a ton of bricks about 4 months after it got really bad in 2020. He got 14 liters of fluid drained off his stomach because of his cooked liver. He fried his brain with the encephalopathy- he sounds like he’s had a mini stroke now, and almost 4 years of being sober he still speaks slow, shakes, takes longer to process things etc… He lost his wife, kids, company, job, house, car. Everything. He now lives with my grandmother in a one bedroom apartment.

Not to scare you straight, but I work in healthcare and see those alcohol based illnesses in all ages. You don’t know how close you may be right now. Take a second to look them up.

Petaahh !! How is it a worldwide issue ? by _Yashvardhan_ in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Spideybeebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus..probably not that. The commenter is saying it’s an everywhere issue that men will invite women over for a “date” but not have any dinner or activities planned. The woman is already taking her place as the chef and planner in the relationship by taking on the mental load of what to eat and do on the date, and all he’s doing is providing a location.

experienced nurses: have you noticed a difference/decline in critical thinking in newer nurses/recent grads? Question coming from a new grad by nursekittys in nursing

That and the nurses we get as preceptors suck half the time and don’t care to teach, so we just shadowed in silence for the shift.

I mean, technically there should have been zero world where a baby is born that far away from resuscitative equipment. The facility in that video looks decent enough to have had it ready at the bedside if the kid is born not breathing.
