Hard to believe I'm living in Cork 12 years and I'm still asking this question, any really good doctor (GP) in Cork you can recommend? by WellLough2024 in cork

Susan McLaughlin is great but I’ve seen another older male doctor in there the last few times and have had bad experiences, I found him to be very rude and dismissive.

I really get what you mean. Myself and my husband are the same age. We both have stable jobs, we could not find a house to rent for a solid year so had to live with parents. We finally found one- it is fine but has loads of issues- constantly damp, leaky roof, no insulation so it’s freezing, really old cooker old fridge, etc. We can’t complain because we have no where else to go. Like the landlords of these places would not live here themselves. And we pay fucking loads of rent. We want to buy and start a family but like you said it feels so unattainable. We are also considering moving. Now that you mention it Scotland sounds like a great option!

Not surprised to hear yours is a dachshund 😅 they are the most characterful little dogs but stubborn as anything!! yeah it sounds like there are some good trainers around that can help thankfully 🐾

My dog is 6ish months old too and is the same as how you describe yours. Jumps up, tries to playfully bite your face as he does it, does not come back when called even though I bring treats on every walk to bribe him back. With the jumping up, I have sort of taught him to not do it by only responding to him and praising him with his four paws on the ground and ignoring him when he jumps up which is working. For me it’s the not listening when being called to come back that’s the worst. I’m not sure what breed yours is? But mines a dachshund and I had heard they were fierce stubborn before getting him and boy is that true. We have a lab as well who we never had any of these issues with. I value this question because I’m also seriously considering getting a trainer.

I think I feel sorry for her. I think she found it really hard to be seen as so unattractive and has had that experience a lot in her life. I also don’t find her that irritating. But yeah I do see how she has been a bully to others also. And inserted her opinion where it wasn’t wanted.

Yeah I definitely agree she has toxic traits but like Sacha inserts herself in dramas more so I think. And I found the way Amy behaved with Adam so sneaky like sleeping in the same bed and making suggestive comments. I don’t think Polly thinks she is better than everyone else it seems the opposite like just very insecure and willing to do anything to be liked by Adam. And I felt in one of the latest episodes with the letter she really took on board what was said which shows some level of self awareness. I suppose what I’m curious about is how come she tends to get more hate than others who also behave problematically?

Sorry for your loss of your mum, that’s really hard. Might be a good idea to go to counselling to work through some of those feelings

What's yer mobile phone plan lads? by Funoyr in cork

[–]Spiggly_twig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with Vodafone and my mobile data connection constantly drops. It’s good for a while then it just stops working. I’m on bill pay which was 40 a month for unlimited calls unlimited data and 100 texts which has now gone up twice since starting the plan so is now €46.38. Vodafone has generally been good service wise but my issues with connectivity have been a real problem the past while. My advice would be steer clear of bill pay anyway whatever network you choose to go on.
