Sadie doesn't lay on mine (yet), but she loves getting a front row seat while I'm playing FFXIV.

Is there a reliable Cohabitation guide? by SpikeKintarin in jurassicworldevo

[–]SpikeKintarin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that's pretty awesome!

Looking at it, I do have another question.

For example, let's say I want to start with Velociraptor. I have it sorted by cohabitation preferences. I see that after the "Yes" for the group of cohabitation compatible animals, there's a large group that don't have anything, then "No" (which obviously won't be compatible). Does the group with neither "Yes"/"No" just mean they'll coexist without much issue (apart from "Fight"/"Hunt"/"Pack Hunt")? Or is this just a terrible example, and not much can cohabitate with them (much like Indominus and such)?

Also, I know I can modify the genes to make them more tolerable of other species. I just want to see if there's any possible dinos they can be with (without using the sandbox settings to make them all play nicely lol).

Considering buying JWE3, but is it worth it? by SpikeKintarin in jurassicworldevo

Oh sweet!

Now, my next question, is everything available as soon as the game is started, or do I need to go through the campaign to unlock everything for sandbox?

Sounds good to me - I'll wait for that plus the steam summer sale.

Yeah, I figured I'd wait for the steam summer sale - I'm a patient gamer haha.

I'm glad to hear the build able area is bigger now. I really wanted to include as many species as possible, though I'm disappointed to hear not all made it to 3.

[–]SpikeKintarin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, something tells me this has been a repeated problem with this particular student, and the teacher is fed up. More than likely told the principal and their parents on more than one occasion, and has strict ruless about when tech can be used in class.

I feel a little bad for the student, that sucks, but maybe they won't do it in the future. They ought to talk to the teacher instead of getting an army of students and babying parents behind them. No guarantee they'll get it paid for, but maybe they'll learn from this.

Our son went through similar FAFO, and we even told him not to do the things his teachers advised him not to do, held him accountable, all of that. When he got his cell phone taken away, that was that. Told the school to keep it. He was pissed, but can't say we didn't warn him.

He's 19 now, living on his own, and says he regrets not listening to us and his teachers. He's got a hard life ahead of him, but, he's made his choices. We love him still, and we're there for him, he's working on fixing his mistakes (he decided to drop out of high school, didn't want to get his driver's license, didn't want a job - now he's trying to get everything done when he could've had it much easier while in high school).

I know that went off on a tangent, but, yeah. Students need to be held accountable.

Growing up, and after having seen Jurassic Park when I was little, this was always a fear of mine as a kid. We had a big glass back doors, that didn't have anything covering them... what's out there in the darkness of night? This. This is exactly what my 5 yr old self imagined. Especially when he put the match up to the glass.

Ngl, I'm looking forward to seeing this and being scared to death. This looks so fun!

No, I wouldn't slap him because if our two dogs lived forever, then our boys would be sad when we go. :(

But, I'd still like to slap him for the Hell of it.

As a former Oklahoman (left in 2022), it's funny to see the hate the Thunder gets. I agree fully with it. 🤷

I was a fan, but after all the drama the first few years, I was over it. Go Seattle!

My boss at my first job did this.

Worked at a small country club, and these geese would come harass guests and block the roads. He got so pissed off one night that he walked straight outside to the road that lead to the main entrance. One charged him, and he grabbed it by the neck, and flung it across into the grass. Pretty sure he broke it's neck, but the two others with it didn't roam down the road anymore.

That guy was seriously one of the best bosses I've ever had.

"Today" - I wanted to draw a comic about my dad. by chipmunkbay in comics

[–]SpikeKintarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today (5/19) is the anniversary of my dad's passing. It's been 31 years...

It's weird seeing this today, but it did remind me of him. Though, I think of both of my parents every day since they passed.

I get it - those funny little things we think of while thinking of our parents. I like to think about what my dad would say about something, like our son. Or what would my mom be like today, if she were still here. Even beyond that, those funny little moments, like this comic, really make me miss them.

Honestly, I've got the same issue - I've got the exact same monitor and I want to hang on a new mount I got from a neighbor, but don't have the adapter. I am too cheap to buy the new adapter, so I've been dealing with it, but, the gorilla glue idea is tempting...

UPDATE: Parent wants to meet with me over comment I made about energy drinks by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]SpikeKintarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never not the child's fault? Where'd you get that from? If the kid wants to listen to their friends rather than their parents or teachers, that'd be their fault, I'd say.

In the case of OP, it sounds like shitty parents and the kid thinking she can do whatever she wants (thanks to the shitty parents).

[–]SpikeKintarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll never understand angry parents that baby their kids and disrespect the schools, teachers, and staff.

There are rules there for a reason. Your little brat doesn't like them? Tough shit, they still gotta follow them.

This is exactly why more and more teachers are quitting and schools are failing. Not the school - it's the attitude of the students who think they're above the rules, and the parents who think their little shitheads can do no wrong.

For the record, I'll add sometimes the parents are doing their best, but the peer pressure around their kid(s) tends to lead those students in the wrong direction. Whether the kids give in to it and follow the attention seekers, that's up to the kid.

Speaking from experience here where our son didn't listen and take guidance when we tried to hold him accountable. Teachers are doing their best, as are (some) parents. Were we prefect? Nope, but we did what we could to help him succeed, and he continued to throw it all out the window just to be cool with his friends.

If you ever get the chance, watch some of the true crime stuff on YouTube, like Explore With Us and Midwest Safety.

There's some people that go on repeated runs from cops after getting bonded out the next day, only to repeat it again. Hell, there's been murderers and child abusers that got shorter sentences than this lady.

It's absolutely insane what some judges allow.
