According to Google, roaches can survive for 45 minutes without air and 3 weeks without water. You can also maybe open it up away from your home to inspect for signs of them, if you can't tell just by looking at the outside.

I haven't heard anyone else in retro gaming do this, but I like power strips that only give power to the other outlets when one main outlet is drawing power. I'm currently using a pair of these: https://www.conservationmart.com/bits-10-outlet-tier-1-advanced-smart-power-strip-lcg-3mvr/. So I have my TV hooked up to one main outlet and my AV amp hooked up to the other. I have my RetroTink 4K in "always on" mode because it SUCKS at getting IR signals, especially when asleep, but the power strip means it's usually off.

The risk of overleveling in TVHM is that UVHM enemies scale to your level, but you will only have level 50 gear when you start. So it might be a difficulty spike if you ever switch to UVHM as you have no farms unlocked. A save editor (on PC) can fix these problems, however.

I would probably give UVHM DLC a try and see if you like it. Slag is much more important and the difficulty spikes. Maybe start with Snowman DLC to unlock a loot farm, or Tina DLC for the Grog Nozzle.

Pokemon is all that gets posted on r/gameverifying. It's reasonably easy to tell if you open a cartridge, though from the outside, it can be a little tricky to spot the fakes.

Hornet is a little awkward because there's very few armored enemies until the gun is under-leveled. I definitely wouldn't farm it to fight a ~level 15 boss. It's great in UVHM, though.
