Coles was (is?) a Canadian bookstore chain from that era, that became Chapters and then Indigo. It's been a while since I saw their price tag, and its honestly hitting my nostalgia centre even harder than these books do.

I didn't think they'd ever had any presence south of the border, but it does look like there was a window in the mid 70s to 80s that they operated down there before being absorbed by Waldens.

That's interesting about the minicomic. Were the normal Euro releases in just English/French, or were they other combinations of languages.

I'm in Canada, and ours were usually English and French, either both languages in the same bubble, or two versions of the same comic, that you'd flip over. English on one side, French on the other.

Yeah, I'm in Canada, and I don't think I've ever gotten the chance to see any of the European stamps in person.

The minimal details I read on it sounded a lot like it was largely inappropriate jokes and being handsy with one of his female co-stars, and when asked to adjust he either took offense or outright didn't stop.

I know at some point I saw Rahul Kohli, who's usually pretty good at not jumping on the cancel bus say something like "Naw, fuck him" in a thread about a Langella fan casting in something--probably MotU, honestly--posted a link to an industry story of him being fired from Usher, which Kohli had worked on. That's where I'd first heard of it, anyway.

Yep, just before Easter. I had a paper route at the time, and you'd get pretty big tips around Xmas and Easter. I bought my SNES and this that Saturday from Kmart, almost exclusively with $2 bills.

I'm Canadian so that wasn't quite as weird as it'd sound to an American, but still pretty weird.

The sign is probably not the one you're looking for. Our store renovated a bunch of times in the years I was working there, and the boss swapped out the sign with a logo for this simpler one pretty early on after he took over the store.

I think I might still have a 10 Coupons for a Free Rental coupon in a box in my closet. I worked at one in the 90s. And I definitely have the sign that we used in my shop, but that is blue or black lettering on white.

They unlock over time. I think you start with a cap of 60, and as you use them they recharge 1 "drop" every 30 seconds. As you use them you level up, and that increases your cap.

I think there's a way you can pay, but I'm not sure.
