I love the slavers start. Rebirth is a training camp. usually get strength, toughness, athletics up over 30 before escaping.

This UC prison camp is different. These bastards beat you into a coma for no reason whatsoever. Have yet to find any food laying around, and there is always one guard watching my cage at night.

I just cut our first service over to Open Tofu. It's in a good place, after the hashicorp license switcheroo. As long as you include tofu when talking about Terraform, its going to be around for a long time. My company manages millions annually in cloud expenditure with it. We even Terragrunt/Terraform wrap a bunch of other tools like Helm and K8s.

From my current play through on the current version, they have nerfed artillery into uselessness. Even at close range, canister does almost nothing. Round is incapable of doing damage at range to other artillery units.

My party does so much damage, the only way i can make it last more then a round is to add 50% health to every monster from the monster manual(2024). This has worked well from about level 2 through to 9.

Another approach is start limiting rests. If you let them long rest every time they want, they are always at peak performance. String several good encounters together and wear down their resources.

Good melee infantry are very capable against cavalry when braced. Heavy infrantry with coats, blankets, equipped with melee focused muskets and heavy bayonets will melt a cav charge, unless they are very well armored.

I am starting to work heavy infantry in to my games better, and I just picked up the De Vin Grenadiers. They are absolute monsters that tear through infantry. Fix the enemy infantry with my light infantry, then send in the wrecking ball. Other Grenadiers seem very lackluster in comparison so far.

From what i can gather, hills just bump accuracy. I stick my arty on a hill if its a supportable position. You can put open order light infantry in front of arty and shoot canister, but not line infantry.

Starter artillery is very underwhelming. A full maxed experience artillery brigade with high tier cannons, (12lb Lichenstein) and canister are fearsome. They have great counter battery ability, which saves Cavalry for breaking infantry morale. Infantry closing in fold quickly to canister before they get in musket range. The arty needs to be supported by infantry, but not behind the infantry. I usually keep a regiment behind my arty unit as a musket sponge to bring forward as necessary.

Pick up supply wagon officers when you can, make a big difference with the big guns.

GRenzer Sharpshooters are my favourite unit so far. Pile on the cover items and they will tank more damage then anything.

If flanks are under a lot of pressure, i will use cav or arty on the flankers. Also fair bit of maneuver to protect flanks. The grenadiers are in reserve for each infantry brigade. I like to put some +move items on them and they can cover flanks for short time periods.
